Anyone else dislike lazy personality due to potential childish dialogue lol?

nope, i want a town full of lazies and I have somehow limited myself to 2, going onto three...

lazies id want incl: stitches, filbert, beau, sherb, bob, punchy, lucky the list goes on forever actually

I love lazies! They're immature and childish comments remind me of me and my friends.

i don't mind the personality but it definitely puts me off from having 2 lazies in my town.

Ah you should hear the Crankies sing tho LOL. Baritone old man, Kaito/Len Kagamine untuned singing voice I had to record it everytime hahaha it gets me really bad 😂 yeah tbh the voices for certain designs can be very off-putting to say the least.
Yeah I have apollo as my only cranky and I’ve heard him sing and it just sounds weird lol. I really don’t like the default song they sing and the way the crankies go “naOw” and “queclebee”

Honestly Lazy and Peppy are my tied favorite personality types with normal being a close second, and honestly, I don't mind it at all. I mean, I used to love when they would talk about food, so I wish they would talk about snacks more and request fruits still, but that's the only thing I dislike. haha. I miss my snacking buddies.

Lazies went from being one of my favorite personalities to being my absolute least favorite in this game. Not because of childish dialogue, but because they will not stop talking about (likely imaginary) bugs! It's creepy and makes them sound mentally unwell. I try to talk to my lazy villagers as little as possible, which is sad.

I play in Japanese half the time now just because they never talk about bugs in that language, and it makes me love my lazy villagers again. I love it when they just talk about food, napping, and act super chill.

I wish I knew Japanese :s

i honestly love sherb talking about bugs and smells and food and sleep - but i can see how that might be off putting. i like the variety, dobie being an old man, tasha being a mature woman, sherb being the five year old in the corner talking to bugs, etc.

I hate the dialogue the lazy villagers have. I used to love them but when ozzie says things like this

It makes me SUPER uneasy. Like in what circumstances was this character yelled at about respect and boundaries? The fact they act like kids despite having entire homes in which they own then say stuff like this freaks me out and makes me want 0 lazies in my town at all.

Like after this I refused to talk to ozzie until he left lmao.

Too be honest: The entire Dialogue in this game is garbage. They should have focused more on the writing. I know that Graphical Style and Improvement of Animations etc. is necessary, but don’t get rid of everything which made the Game better. The Villagers need to be alive, like you are talking to an actual Person (I know they are Animals). Otherwise they could have just typed in Meow, Meow, Meow.

Most of the time I only talk to my Villagers once or twice a day and that’s it. I’m just waiting for the Moment the Dialogue starts to improve as People have told me, but for now it did not happen.

sometimes it's a bit weird, but I've gotten used to their dialogue in this game. I couldn't imagine outright not having any lazy villagers, that's for sure. but I have Clyde and I'm not a fan of him.

I don’t hate it, but it does make them feel more caricature-ish than in past games, which was disappointing to me. I always liked having multiple Lazies because their chill, laid-back personalities didn’t feel as repetitive as a Jock or a Peppy (or even Snooty and Cranky, which I adore), but now their dialogue would seem really weird coming from more than one resident.

I scanned in Broccolo the other day and liked him a lot! He looks like a little kid so the lazy dialogue felt much more suited to his design.

i wouldnt mind the childish dialogue if it was used for a new personality or if it was a sub-personality for the more child-like villagers over completely redoing the vibe lazy villagers had. I always saw some of my favorite lazy villagers as the same age as me or older because i relate to them but now it feels very awkward thinking about 20 year olds talking like the way they do in this game ;;

it's not a deal-breaker, just weird. I kinda choose to ignore the child aspect unless I see the villager as an actual child

For me, I think it'll have to be the right villager. So far I really don't care for the Lazy personality. Rex seemed like an oafish slob, Beau seems like a dull stoner. Maybe a villager with either a more creepy or more childish appearance would fit better and make me happier, but I dunno.

It's at fault of who localized the game though.

I'm with you OP. I liked the New Leaf brand of Lazy a lot better than what it's become in New Horizons. Also I'm gonna be honest, sometimes the lazy villagers' dialogue is straight up gross - why are they so sticky all the time? Why was Sherb telling me he gets snot all over his clothes? Why-- the list goes on and on, lmao. I liked them better when they were chill and just talked about food rather than how uhh... dirty they are
