Anyone else dislike lazy personality due to potential childish dialogue lol?

Lazy and cranky are definitely my favorite personalities, if I'm not careful I could end up with my island full of them. I agree that sometimes lazy villagers can be childish, but for me that's part of their charm, when my lazy villagers talk about their bugs or food I feel relaxed, because they seem so chill and just open to enjoy such trivial things. Cranky villagers give me more complex vibes, and also feel like someone you would ask advice to, some like Apollo feel like dads, Del feels like your typical cool, loud and kind of brute uncle and Fang is now my favorite cranky as he feels mature but at the same time sweet and soft.

I think it's just a problem that all personalities end up suffering, the lack of more diverse dialogue (or maybe I'm just unlucky and I get so many repeated dialogue in a little spawn of time). I'm aiming for a more personality diverse island anyways, but I'm sad about having to reduce my favorite personalities if I don't want to be constantly spammed with the same topics.

Man i'm tempted to get rid of Sherb solely to grab a third Cranky now I feel warm and comforted by their kind/warm fatherly/uncle-vibed words LOL Fang/Lolly or Merengue would be great to hop into haha! More mature-figured wolves sounds great : ) I surprisingly haven't had any repeats w/ too many but I keep my discussions w/ them sparse at the moment haha. I might start hitting up on some serious repetition at some point.

I'm not too fond of the whole "bugs" dialogue either I thought it was pretty gross and weird? :') I've only had Cole and Sherb on my island for now and each of them didn't stay for long, I couldn't really connect with them and I'm having a hard time deciding of who will be my Lazy to be honest :/ They were some of my favorite before and now well I don't know... I don't like them as much... Thought I'd give Bob a chance though since I used to dislike him and he looks pretty cute!

Awww haha kinda sounds like my ordeal lol? I actually adored lazies Beau and Stitches were some of my villager dreamies in NL somehow I dont feel as connected now? ahaha I guess maybe also w/ Age I favor my type of grump-dads LOL. I'll probably give him away at some point but we'll see :' D

Yeah I feel you, but there's just so little dialogue in the game that I feel like I shouldn't pass on any personnality haha! In NL I disliked Uchis and still had one (I like them better now, I guess it comes and goes)!

Very true haha but it's also about the appearance while I do find him fairly appealing he doesn't really fit my islands image atm xD oh boy haha. Maybe stitches could work hmmm?

I understand not being fond of the lazy villager dialogue. Lazies are BY FAR my least favorite personality type. If I could have a well functioning island without a lazy, i would. But I'm not missing out on reactions or DIYs just because I can't stand lazies. I think Stitches is the cutest lazy, so I might try to get him. Also, I think my tolerance of lazies depends on how well the personality matches the aesthetic. I think Stitches just works, so I am more okay with him.

I have Filbert as my lazy so I think the childish dialogue definitely suits him with how baby he is!! I thought it was adorable in NL how he’d always talk about snacks and I’m glad he still does but I don’t really like that bug talk has become so prominent in their new dialogue.. a couple mentions every now and then are fine but it doesn’t really suit all of them to be talking about it as much as snacks/naps imo

I think if I decide to get rid of Sherb do some island hopping and decide my fate haha regardless of personality it just sounds super fun and appealing to try rn (y)

I personally like it. But it’s probably because I talk like a child myself lmao

Awww lol I think that's sweet it's nice to see people who are able to love and connect w/ certain personalities this is why Crankies are my speed constantly old/tired and complainy LOL. just me everyday 😂

The childlike nature of lazies is what makes them particularly endearing. Filbert is my lazy in NH, and I love him just as much as I did when I had him in GC. Honestly, I think the reason I like Snake so much is because he reminds me more of a lazy than a jock, since I'm not terribly fond of most jocks.

Still, everyone has personalities they like or don't. For me, I can take or leave the uchi and peppy. I've lucked into ones I like, so I'll keep them, but the personality on a whole is not one I care for.

Fair enough haha! There are plenty out there who can't stand others' relatable types : ) Glad to see lazies are well beloved, truthfully I adored them in NL I think just maybe the dialogue isn't quite my favorite sadly. But I still love Peppy and Cranky as much as I always have haha.

Should add I prefer smugs better in NH too love me that new cat.

I think it's cute, but I don't know how I'd feel if I saw Bob talking about the bugs in his floor. The last time I had Bob was in the GCN version and I just don't remember him being like that.

With Zucker and Beau, it's fine, as they're new to me.

maybe i'm biased, but stitches looks like a bear my mom gave me when i was 2 years old, and still have to this day all these years later. i cherish that bear because it's the last thing i have from such a young age, and seeing Stitches in this game, and the way he's so childish brings me right back to my childhood. I love him and I find his dialogue endearing

When I played Wild World and New Leaf, I did not like the lazy personality, so I avoided them.

But in my New Horizons game, Claude the side-glancing bunny with the unibrow moved in, and somehow he's won my heart!

He's so earnest no matter what he's saying. I find that endearing. When he confesses that he's eating only snacks he could reach while lying on the floor or how he evicted a bug because it didn't pay the rent, I can't help but smile. (Or giggle a little. Yeah. I do that.) I actually like the way he talks about the bugs all the time. He's clearly great pals with them.

(I don't know. Maybe I can appreciate his little hobby because I'm someone who loves jumping spiders in real life. )

Personnally their childish dialogues don't bother me and it's actually one of my favorite personnalities. It fits Sherb so well, each time I talk to him he's just so cute!
The fact that they talk about bugs make me like them even more since I'm a lot into those little critters.

It's almost as if the lazy villagers are an in-game representation of me on some sides : Liking food and insects.

That's super sweet naww! Glad he has such childlike sentimentality for many that they can even look back and have good memories of childhood!

They annoy me but in a funny way. Like my agitation toward them would make anyone laugh.

I have two lazies on my island and its funny that one annoys me more despite them repeating the same phrases. I did see them fight because one talked over the other when explaining his dream.

But if I had an island full of 10 lazies, that'd be my version of hell.
