I think i prefer the one in NL over what the current dialouge is. I saw a list of some convos people got from their lazy villagers and they werent so bad but i dont have such luck. Stu wont shut up about bugs and gross stuff and i cant wait for him to be gone and he just refuses to give me nice diverse dialouge except sometimes.
Anyone else dislike lazy personality due to potential childish dialogue lol?

Yeah, I feel very fortunate that I can play in another language. I wonder if they only talk about bugs in English? I feel like that's probably the case if other languages were localized using Japanese as the starting point. I'm really curious about what the lazy dialogue is like in other languages like French, Spanish, Russian, Korean, etc.
Either way, it makes me wonder why on earth the localizers and translators chose to add the bug talk in in English.
It doesn't make any sense!

I picked to have Papi as my lazy this time around because my old favs (Bones and Walker) would tip me over to 3/4 dogs out of 10 villagers and I don't like being that heavy in any one species type if I'm not doing a theme (its complicated)
so anyway, Papi.... apparently has bugs in his floor who talk to him. A LOT. and I actually find every dialog involving the bugs hilarious and adorable.
Seeing all of the posts about lazy villagers acting childish (moreso than before anyway) makes me feel like I made the right choice as I don't think I would appreciate that from Bones or Walker if they had ended up on that end of the lazy personality behaviors list.

It really depends for me. Stitches, as much as I love him, I can’t wait for him to move cause he only talks about bugs, jeez. Bob on the other hand, it’s very cute. He talks about snacks and naps all the time but at least he never mentioned the bugs on the floor whispering DIY recepies.
I love the them, but I think it depends on the villager. Zucker's adorable, but then I thought about Puck having the same personality and decided maybe I'd pass on him in this game. It just didn't seem to suit him as well.

As far as I know,the lazy villagers were always meant to be children or at least childlike and if a video game character wants to talk about bugs,it's not gonna bug me(sorry 'bout that...).I did have a conversation with Joey about favorite foods and he whipped out this monologue about pizza which I didn't expect.Hopefully,there's more where that came from.
