Announcement: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition & Free Update

I'm glad that Nintendo are still supporting the game, although I get the feeling that they are only doing so because of the Switch 2 port, and wouldn't have bothered otherwise.

I welcome all of the new content as well as quality-of-life features. However, I still think that they are being somewhat stingy in regards to storage slots. An extra 4,000 is too little, too late for most players. I think at this point they could afford to be a little more generous with the storage, given how many items are actually in the game. 9,000 feels a bit underwhelming, and I am fairly certain that I'll fill that an hour after the update goes live! It'll be nice to clean-up my island, albeit for a short while until I reach that maximum storage cap again.

15,000 slots (or more) would have felt more adequate, and would show that they are listening to complaints, given that lack of storage is probably their number 1 complaint and the main reason a lot of players are put off after playing for a certain length of time. I know having my island littered with dropped items has hindered my progress and spoilt my enjoyment of the game, not to mention the associated entity lag that I have to endure.

Bulk crafting is a thing now? So Nintendo is listening to the community it seems. Hmm..should have complained louder about having unbreakable tools.

On one hand, I appreciate the free update. I especially love the Lego furniture and the Zelda stuff and the Nintendo items like the consoles. I will certainly enjoy the extra storage. I'll make use of the extra storage and I'll seriously need to rethink my house and the island. I might use the dream islands to make use of the new stuff. I wish that the side rooms were enlarged because I'm still kinda disappointed that some of the rooms aren't completely large squares.

Sadly, and I do need to add this. This fees like too little, too late. It's been at least a year since I've played. The Hotel seems too much like Happy Home Paradise. It'd be nice to have the 3DS mini-game island. Still I like the Hotel items. I do wish we could get mannequins to take back home.

I'll certainly play. Once I complete FF4, I'll go back to Hyrule Warriors DE. I'll then play this and other stuff to keep me occupied until Tomodachi Life LTD comes out.

Also, which specific splatoon amiibo do we need for each squirrel? It says "compatible Splatoon amiibo." I guess TBD?

When we see the new items in the hotel catalogue I am hoping that each island has different colour variations so that we can trade with each other

I will be needing in this in every possible colour its so cute !!!!!!!!

I'm excited for the update and immediately brought the Switch 2 upgrade since it was 5 dollars. I can't wait to trade with everyone here to get the new items the update drops on us.

It was REALLY surprising to see the 3.0 update announced, but excited to see it!!

I'm most excited for the Nintendo items! Those were some of my favorite items in Gamecube Animal Crossing. Will be fun to see what items are part of the set.

The hotel by the pier looks interesting too!

I really hope there is a new feature where you can "Sell" your island to Tom Nook, similar to how it worked in New Leaf with the Welcome Amiibo, where if you wanted to start over, you could keep all your bells without losing them. Tom Nook will be able to give you the bells needed to start over in a new town, and you can repay your home loans much faster. I am also hoping for Room Size Expansion for our homes because, with all this storage and decorating with new furniture, we really need more space in our homes to accommodate these furniture items.

It's not mentioned explicitly, it's shown during the part about crafting items to ship out through Kapp'n. When the player goes to craft the items, they can choose a number of items to craft.
