Voiding villager question

I'm just wondering, how long does a villager stay in your void pool?
I was holding a villager for someone and unfortunately they didn't reply so the villager got voided. I want to try to see if they'll pick the villager up from the void. But I don't know if i can time travel in the mean time while I wait for them to get a spot in their town.

i believe a villager will remain in the void until 15 other villagers have moved out after they did

That's right. Plus, in order for them to be able to pick up the said villager,
1) Your streetpass settings has to be off when the villager was voided.
2) The person has to be the very first one to have transaction with you after the villager was voided.
