Villagers won't give me tasks to do. :C

It used to be that I would get 3-4 tasks from villagers on any given day. Now, I'll talk to my favorites like 10+ times, and if I'm lucky, I'll get 1 task. It sucks because I can't get closer/get their pictures without doing odd jobs.

Is the game trying to punish me for playing a lot? I've noticed that fish/bugs dry up if you play too long, so maybe this is a similar hint to stop playing so much. Has anyone else encountered this?

Yes, I'm experiencing this also. Not many requests from the villagers all weekend. I expected it during the Bug Off yesterday. Nobody requests anything during an event. Tonight is fireworks, so nobody's going to request anything tonight. I thought I'd get requests during the day, but whenever someone pings me today, it's always gossip or something--never a request.

I am having the same problem is my 2 towns. I had very few requests the last several days.
