Are there any stuff that you loved doing as a kid or in your recemt years? What about foods you liked eating? Could you still do them today or eat them today?

Now let’s talk about what you can’t do anymore, even if you have the ability and/or money, there are no laws or restrictions against it, and you’re not being punished. The fact that you can’t do them anymore is pretty much like someone dying or some species going extinct. By thinking about it, it’s very sad. Usually, this happens when something phases out or discontinues, you’re too old for it, disaster has struck, or could no longer exist or be achieved due to changes. Of course, there are some things you can still do, if you still have it. But if you had the opportunity to do something and miss out, or did it a lot but couldn’t do it anymore, it’s done for good. And you may be able to do something you couldn’t do anymore, but you can’t do it if you’re not interested into antique shopping.

It happened to me a couple of times. It begins with Disneyland rides. Before the Finding Nemo Submarine voyage, there was a 20,000 Leagues version of it, which had robotics. It was replaced with a Finding Nemo version many years later with video animations, making it disappointing. There was also a ride called Rocket Rods, which moved very fast. I liked riding it, but after so many mechanical difficulties, the ride was officially discontinued, meaning that I could never ride Rocket Rods again. There are a couple of other old attractions in Disneyland that were replaced by something else or was gone completely. Like Soarin’ Over California was just changed to a world version. Or the Twilight Zone ride was changed to a less scary ride based on Guardians of the Galaxy. Or that Disney did away with Fantasmic. I don’t know if the newer rides are any better or worse, but I liked those older rides or events. The fact they are gone means that I could never ride them again. I’m pretty much done with Disneyland if Star Tours or Temple of the Forbidden Eye gets removed.

Speaking of amusement parks, another thing I couldn’t do anymore is go to Legoland. Most of the rides are for little kids, and I am well over 18 years old. I also can’t participate in activities geared towards kids ages 12 or less. But that isn’t all that bad. While I can’t do anything for 12-year-olds and younger, I can do anything for 21-year-olds and older, as well as 18-year-old activities. I can gamble at public casinos, attend luxury movie theaters made for 21-year-olds, start accounts without parental guidance, and vote.

Here is a list of other things I can’t do:

  • Ride on playground swings - or anything related to playgrounds. Last time I did that was in the 5th grade. Once you move to a school with no recess, you’re done with that.
  • Play with Bionicle sets - this includes all, but what I like about Bionicle is the Mata Nui sets, which are released in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Lego stopped making these sets, the Bionicle franchise is over, and Lego rarely re-releases older sets (in fact, it’s hard to imagine toy companies re-introducing toys they don’t sell anymore). I once collected most of them, but we gave away our Legos to someone else when moving out. I can collect them again, but the difficulties is that prices are high while they don’t have everything available on eBay or other sites I can get old sets. Basically, I could no longer do this.
  • Getting Mm Picked - I remember the good old days of Little Big Planet. Back in my early adulthood, I used to play it a lot. I remember getting all of the Story Mode Pins and DLC Pins (like the Move Pack Pins, which was a fun experience I did). But one thing I wanted most was getting Mm Picked, because I could get a special pin that shows I got honor from the developers. But I always had trouble getting people to play my levels. The Cool Levels pages are spammed with copied levels. I don’t advertise in comments or reviews since that is rude. People don’t play my levels even when I share them online. But to get an Mm Pick, the community manager must play your levels and love it. That never happened with me, and since Little Big Planet is very old, and that my interest is gone, I could never get Mm Picked within my lifetime.
  • Play older games - more particularly PlayStation 2 games. After our house burned down in 2011 and that we didn’t get a PS2 after, I don’t have a PlayStation 2. All the games I played on it (except for the originaly Sly Cooper trilogy, which got Vita re-releases and a PS3 game), I can never play them again. They were mostly 3rd party games, and they never made it to the digital stores like Nintendo’s Virtual Console service. I could do it again today, but I’m so far onto the Nintendo side I wouldn’t be interested anymore. Speaking of Nintendo, this also includes Nintendo 64 and GameCube games. If I own the consoles (which I luckily do), I can still do it again. Those older consoles and games are discontinued, Nintendo no longer does their Classic Edition consoles or Virtual Console, and I can’t download the emulator versions since they’re under attack by lawsuits. And let’s not go over the licensed board games released last decade (which are no longer for sale). If this were to include App Store games, basically any game that hasn’t updated to 64-bit after iOS 11 was released can’t be played anymore. Some developers wouldn’t even update their games.
  • Play Flash Games - Good News! I can still play the Mata Nui Online game, if I downloaded it to my computer. Bad News! Not all Flash Games can be saved. As Flash is phasing out in 2019, every game that used Flash will no longer be playable, so if any Flash game is not remade, it will no longer exist, at least on the internet.
Now if I were to talk about foods I can’t eat anymore, there are a couple of foods I can’t eat after being discontinued. At Coushatta Casino Resort, the largest casino in Louisiana, there was a café that served huge cream puffs. I usually get them when I go to Coushatta, but I recently heard that they are no longer served at that café, making that one more food I can’t have. At my school, there was a sandwich bar that sold hot sandwiches. My favorite one was the breakfast sandwich. But they took that off the menu. Other foods I like that I couldn’t have anymore for that reason: timed exclusives from McDonald’s and Taco Bell (like McDonald’s mozzarella sticks or Taco Bell’s rolled tacos), Wonka Donutz (a candy released to promote the 2005 film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and KFC’s chocolate parfait.

Some of the stuff I used to eat or do, I haven’t experienced it in a long time, as I don’t see any hope in the future. Other stuff, I normally do them as of recent times, but they are discontinued. If you can’t do something anymore, it really means you can’t do them anymore for the rest of your life. So if you want them to live with you, they will always exist in memories.

Man, my favorite ride at Disney World was always Maelstrom. It was an educational ride that taught kids about Norwegian culture and mythology.. and they replaced it with a stupid Frozen ride to make that sweet, sweet cashola. I guess that's something that I'll never be able to do again.

Also, in my hometown in Pennsylvania, we had a place called Bruster's ice cream. My favorite flavor was Cotton Candy Explosion, a purple, sugary ice cream with pop rocks in it. They also had these really good dinosaur shaped sugar cookies, but sadly they went out of business and got replaced with a Subway.
