    Multiple part post but eh. It may be sudden if you didn’t catch me mentioning this, but after tomorrow I’m taking a break. I’m going to be off the Internet until the Halloween event, I’ll hang around the forum if I like the collectables, and then I’ll be off until next year. Too much has happened in life, and I just want to focus on art. When I’m good at that it makes me feel good, and I seriously want it to be my career, which means buckling and getting rid of distractions.

    I've seen you talking about easing back into art and I'm doing the exact same thing right now so I'm cheering you on! Getting started again is the hardest part but it'll definitely be worth it.

    Ooo and observation lol. I think that would actually be the next step for me to really improve because I have all these basic ideas and some skill at rendering, but it’s really hard and I just want to discuss it with someone or a teacher y’know

    Oh yeah that's understandable. I've never learnt art formally so I don't know much about critiquing tbh. I already tend to be overly conscious of what's wrong with my work so I've never sought out critique, but I agree that it can be really useful to have another pair of eyes on your work, especially someone who has a different approach to you.

    I don't have Discord but I've honestly been thinking of getting it because it seems to be what everyone uses these days. I have some things to do today but I'll look into it later and let you know!

    I never did in a class lol, but I taught myself. If I weren’t so caught up in myself I’d offer more advice on critiquing now but there’s a certain level of disconnecting from doing the work that has helped a little in the past. I can’t blame you for not picking up Discord haha if it weren’t as popular I wouldn’t use it, and if my boyfriend weren’t there I would have left. I’m just there for the TBT server and a few friends honestly.

    Hey there. I just wanted to say thanks for liking mine and everyone else's posts in the What's Bothering You thread. You do a lot there and I feel it helps ease the pain of people here somewhat or at least makes us feel heard. It definitely has helped me feel like my feelings are valid. Being upset sometimes is healthy to galvanise progress (even when it’s just personal) and I’m a huge advocate for that and do just wanna support people having trouble in there even when I can’t reply to everyone.
