lol I opened the video and I immediately heard the song Harbor Lights, I wonder what/who I've been listening to the most this year

to the shock of absolutely no one who knows me, my top artist was Bruce Hornsby. I've always loved his music, since I first discovered it as a wee thing in 2011-12, but this year he's cemented himself as my favourite contemporary musician and pianist. I think it's fantastic that, according to Spotify, I'm in the top 0.05% of listeners. I almost wonder if there's a single other person in this world who listens to his music more than I do?

also, this says we spent 2,419 minutes together, but that doesn't include the many, many hours I've spent listening to CDs with his music on it in my car in the last 5-6 months. I'm probably more like a top 0.01% fan haha.

I think this song is #1 because it's the only one that I never put on a CD, I just played it on Spotify when I wanted to listen to it. again, if Spotify accounted for all the times I listened to my Bruce Hornsby CDs on repeat, it would probably say something more like, "Your #1 song was 'Passing Through' and you've played it 137 times since June" lmaoooo the top 5 would also be nothing but songs from Harbor Lights, probably.

of course his group, The Range, is second in line. third and fourth are both similar, because Ollie Wride sings in a lot of songs from Atlas. I do find it interesting that Alice in Chains is fifth, though I'm not surprised. I listened to them a lot earlier this year, but I dropped off pretty early on and I haven't been particularly interested in grunge since then, though I still very much appreciate their music.

this about sums up my taste in music, though I'm starting to get into modern jazz rock/pop too (courtesy of Bruce's Hot House).

this is probably because, when I listen to Bruce's stuff, I just play his albums all the way though. I like every song on his albums so I prefer to listen to all of them in one go.

lastly, I found this to be very interesting and intriguing. I doubt that's a very large population considering Bruce's fanbase tends to be quite small (especially if you're considering the group of him and Ricky Skaggs as one thing), but I guess I really do have some more friends in Canada lol

Well... I can't say I'm surprised.

I've only had Spotify for a month, but 3000+ minutes is still pretty impressive. I was using YouTube to listen to music before that, so I'm wondering what the numbers would've been like if I had Spotify from the beginning. After some math, I came up with... Almost 40,000 minutes.

I love how one of SOAD's filler songs that probably wasn't meant to be popular like Chop Suey! and Toxicity managed to be my most played song. XD

I'm actually kind of surprised by this. "Violent [—]" is my favorite song, but Bounce somehow managed to out-rank it here. (And it's great that it's all SOAD except for one Slipknot song lmao)

If it wasn't obvious what my favorite band was, then it is now. Not only do I have SOAD be #1 on my top artists list, but I also have two of the band members right below Slipknot. Damn.

I can vouch for that.

Huh, I don't really use Spotify that much in my opinion, I was expecting this number to be twice as low or even more

Listening to Alan Walker during the summertime is so nostalgic so I always make it a point to listen as much as possible

It comes to absolutely no shock what-so-ever that Alan Walker is my top artist. I heard his song "Alone" back in 2018 and have been obsessed ever since then. I will never ever get tired of his music and I could play all his songs for the rest of my life
It really means a lot to me that I'm a top 0.5% fan, I guess that really proves how much I adore his music.

I have no clue why Three Days Grace is my top #5?? I'm pretty sure I only listened to their music like 2 or 3 times?
I was kind of expecting "Bohnes" or "girl in red" to be in my top #5 instead of Three Days Grace.
The other 3 don't come off as a shock to me, I love "Set It Off" "The Score" and "Palaye Royale" a lot and frequently spent a lot of time listening to them it would make sense to see them in my top #5.

Guys, guys, I have a logical explanation why pop is my #1 genre and it's not rock or metal,
Back when I first got Spotify I tried making playlists of my favorite fictional characters and my OCs and they had a lot of pop music in them but I failed making them but it still counts towards me listening to a lot of pop, also I have this one gay playlist I listen to a lot and it contains a lot of pop songs, Spotify is telling lies pop is NOT my favorite genre of music it's rock and metal

Top artists is fairly accurate, top songs has once again been ruined by using Spotify for practicing drums lol. You listen to part of a song 50 times to get it down and it just goes "whoa he must really love this one"

In 2021 The Cure were my number one. In 2022 Taeyeon was number one. And in 2023 The Cure is back to number one. Seems they are alternating.

They have been my favourite band for a very long time and ever since seeing their concert in November last year my obsession has only grown stronger

Ngl I prefer youtube 'cause there's more stuff on there but it's been on my bucket list to get a wrapped so here we are ^^. I listen to the same songs over and over again for years btw since finding new music is such a chore to me ^^;. As you can see, I probably listen to music a lot less than the average person ^^; And yes, Sowieso is on there twice because it's one of my favorite songs of all time and I listened to different versions of it. Then by Fusq is number one because I listened to it over and over and had an animation with my new OC in my head for it.
