Ever since the new update, fish have been swimming away just when I simply walk by O: Has it always been like that? It bothers me so much ;-;
 
Are you running? Fish leave when you run past them and it's always been that way.
 
I don't have an answer here, but I did notice this happening too. However, it was only in a tour on the island (a non-fishing one). I haven't noticed it elsewhere.
 
I tried this earlier, and it didn't happen, yet I did it a few minutes ago, and it did! O:
 
Fun fact -- if you glitch into the river and walk near fish, they run away. So maybe the game is detecting you as too close.
