With or against duplicating?

A lot of people responded to this thread within the last few days, so maybe it'll be an interesting read for you.
It's not a legit practice on this site, but my stance? I actually really don't care. Just don't use it for profit. Using it for charity/giveaways/simply helping people? Cool. Using it for your own enjoyment? Cool. Curiosity? Cool. I really have no issue with what people do on their own games unless, as I said, they're taking advantage of people by making a profit.

Doesn't really bother me, but to a certain extent, though.
Many people have different ideas of "cheating." For example, some people view TT'ing as cheating, but many do it anyway. Some people view duping as cheating, but many do it anyway.

I'm all for freedom to do whatever, but I'm pretty strongly against it.
Really takes away the legitimacy of achieving your dream town, when you know that a substantial amount of your money and items were most likely achieved through someone else cheating and then trading them away. In the end, I don't lose much sleep over it, but really do wish these kinds of exploits weren't so readily available to people.

hell, there's certain items I'd still like to get that require more extreme cheating methods, so....

As long as it doesn't effect my game, then I'm fine. It's kinda the same with Pokemon hacking.. I'd prefer if they didn't hack, but I can't stop them. It's probably fun for some people to dupe and hack in AC, I use to do the same thing as a kid when playing Pokemon

I also dont care if someone does, either. I dont understand why some people have a problem with it, its not like they can change the population of people who do it. This is just a game after all, everyone has their own way of playing. Whatever is most fun and enjoyable for the player
I can see why people love to do the duplicate trick and it is very handy but it is also really cheaty. Ive never done it myself before, and i dont think i ever will try it. I like to earn what i get and or pay for the stuff i want appropriately. I guess if you are the kind of person that is trying to make a profit by selling all the duplicate items, then i can see why people use it all the time. I only really need one of each item on most occasions so it also is kind of pointless for me to use it as well. Overall though, i really dont care what people do in their own games as long as it doesnt affect mine. And if im buying an item from someone, i dont really know if there is a way to check if they duplicated an item or not.

It doesn't matter to me.
I'm not going to tell other people how to play their own video games, but I personally wouldn't do it. Not only is it considered cheating (I still have morals), but the chance of game corruption increases a lot when you try to exploit these tricks. I prefer enjoying games how the designers intended me to enjoy them and have never had a problem following that line of thought.
It doesn't matter to me if ppl do it or not. It's their game and they can play however they want to play. I just wouldn't do t at all. It can be risky. I put way too much effort into my town and I don't want to lose it at all. I know that the risk is minimum but idc.

I'm hugely against anything that shortens the life of the game, including time turning. I honestly think anything that "cheats" the way the game is supposed to be played kills its life and makes it much less fun.
Gonna have to disagree with that. A lot of the life in the game can be drawn out quite a bit, especially if you've reset your game and already know what to do to get certain things. To give a fair example, Gracie. Sure, it can be nice to patiently wait for her arrival 4 times to unlock the final Nookling shop, but some people have terrible luck with her and may have only had her in their town twice after having their town for a year. Now that can take away a lot of the fun and life in the game since waiting for the upgrade can drag out the fun, especially if you need the upgrade for bamboo shoots/fertilizer.
That's just one universal example that pretty much any player can probably relate to though. Personally, I time traveled a LOT once I remade my town due to the fact that I'd already earned everything properly the first time around, and going at the same pace with my new town would've made it less fun for me. It's all about perspective though - for some people, time traveling makes it more fun since you get things faster and that's exciting for them.
Now, as for duping, I really don't care if someone goes out to dupe their items as long as they don't try to pass it off as legitimate. Yeah, okay, I'm TOTALLY sure you little American kid just HAPPENED to get 30 copies of that DLC unorderable item that was only released in Japan. I don't see how this could've been obtained illegitimately at all! What makes you think that!?
I don't really care either way unless someone is trying to defend their 60 Mirror Mochis as something they legit got.

You're going to honestly say in the whole time you've ever played any AC game, you never TT? Because TT is considered cheating in a way as well.
What most people said, so long as people don't use it to gain profit I don't see any issue with it. Everyone plays differently, to be fair some people don't have all day to sit around and "properly" play the game xD Animal Crossing is fun at first but after a while it does get a bit boring. And to those who cheat in any way I give them credit, it's not an easy thing to do or learn.
I used to TT in my old new leaf, but I stopped it. I hated cheating. So I don't TT at all now, except from my cycle town.
