Will you be picking up a Nintendo Switch 2 to play ACNH - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition?

i don't think it's a bad strategy by Nintendo to try to get some Animal Crossing fans to upgrade to Switch 2, but it's not enough for me.
going to need new games exclusive to switch 2 i'm really excited for, and even then, switch 2 + controllers is pretty expensive, so going to need to think about it

I already have a Switch 2 but mainly because of this:
My Switch is literally held together with gaffa tape and won't work unless it's docked and plugged in at all times ... I needed a replacement and upgrading made more sense ...
Anyway, would this [the NH update] make me buy a Switch 2 if I didn't already have one? No. I don't believe in buying a console just for one game, let alone an update ... That's a waste of money in my eyes. I'll most probably get the Switch 2 Edition physical though because I like having full games with all the content in one place ...
On a happy note, my Callie and Marie amiibo arrived in the post today, so I'm sorted for the update items

I was set on buying a Switch 2 since before it was announced, so I do already have one! While I'm very happy for some additional benefits, particularly the enhanced resolution, it wouldn't have been enough for me to upgrade from a Switch to a Switch 2. However, I am excited for the free update as well as the Switch 2 Edition features!

I got one release day actually, it's def lots of fun! Runs well, looks good, for games that have the upgrades... the UI is familiar, etc. But I'm def getting the NS2 edition!

For now, absolutely not. In fact, I'm not even sure if I want to get a Switch 2 in the future after hearing about the whole game-card-only-being-a-download-code fiasco (as someone who tries to buy physical where possible, the only exception is my PS Vita because of how modded extra memory is handled) and the remote kill-switch (although I believe that was an update to their overall TOS so I'm not entirely sure if that still applies to my Lite... I hope it doesn't as I'd love to implement custom themes on that thing at some point). Also I only bought my first Switch (the aforementioned Lite, coral pink) a couple of months ago, so I'm really not looking for yet another console right now. I'd be more tempted to if, say, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is good, and if Level-5 only release Layton games after that on the Switch 2... but at that point I feel like I'd just hope they release the games on other hardware like Capcom have done with every Ace Attorney game besides the Layton crossover now.
Also I must confess... I currently have Wild World, New Leaf and New Horizons, and those 3 together are enough for me. I don't think I'd be able to manage more than 3 saves, especially since I haven't played much in the past few weeks. Heck, I'm forgetting to feed my Nintendogs these days because of coursework... and the paid Switch 2 expansion took up maybe a quarter of the announcement trailer, with the rest being occupied by the free 3.0 update, I don't know.
Long story short, probably never. Apologies for grammar mistakes, it's 2:41 in the morning and I'm tired but the 3am motivation is pushing me to work on the essay I want to finish by this evening.

The megaphone is a nice call back, but I wish we could actually use our phones - something that was made so you can communicate to people via long distances - to message our villagers and locate them that way.
I think megaphones can't specify if they're in a building either? Been a while XD
