Will we ever be allowed more than 10 villagers??

I personally love the idea of villagers being able to move in together, maybe they could get a bigger house (since currently the villager house is nearly the same as a player three-room design house but is just one room). It would be awesome since I have a couple of villagers I headcanon as being in romantic couples!
Jeez GC was 15?? I need to play that one now

It would be cool if villagers could expand their own home (with your help, obviously because you pay for everything, always). Itās so strange that my home is expanding and have separate rooms for sleeping, living, etc. but they live in a hole with no bed inside sometimes

Why do people say this? If 10 is the perfect amount then Nintendo can give the option for those who want more to have more and those who want 10 can just stick to 10, don't make new sell plots. 10 is way too little especially when only 5 villagers is ever out at any given time.

I must agree. My island feels too empty. Its even more so when there are only 2 damn shops right now. I have 2 massive open areas that I'm probably just going to stuff with trees because even if I do decorate, it won't take up that much space.
I don't even see half of my villagers on a given day as they're in their houses
City Folk was only 10? Could've sworn it was more than that.

Believe it or not I wanted a much bigger map and around 16 to 30 villagers. This game should have been an AC evolution of a game. When I heard it took place on an island, I knew we would never get this chance. I had my ideas in one of the thread and if only my vision of New Horizon was the same as Nintendo.

I would have liked 16 as the magic number, however, that would be the total number counting player characters. So if youāre the only PC, and you have room, you could have, God help you, 15 animals Islanders.
BUT... youāre not forced to have that many. Maybe 8 minimum after the tutorial and you can tear down lots when one moves out so you can decrease the population.

I just checked my City Folk game, and I currently have 12 villagers in my town. But I do remember having less from time to time, although the number was always between 10 and 12.
I would love to have new villager slots, there are so many villagers I want and 10 really feels like a restriction. I think 15 would be a great number, and people could also decided whether they want to sell more plots or not. I'd just really love to give some of my favorite villagers a home. Hopefully the cap will be bigger in the future.
