I've been playing since inception, going to mystery islands just about everyday (though not AS much lately as I'm busy with other things) but yeah, I've never landed on a hybrid flower island. Can anyone guess why? Has this happened to any of you? Thanks.
Why have I never gotten a hybrid island?

i got it once during my first week of playing and decided to pick them up instead of using the shovel (thinking it's the same as new leaf), and never been on one since. they're just rare.
Well then apparently I have crap luck. Everyone seems to have been on one but me!

I may have encountered it before I was even focused on flowers so I didnt realize the benefit.
Though out of probably 70 tours - not once that I remember. I've gotten true tarantula island and garbage fish island and money rock island all twice.

I may have traveled to mystery islands around 25 to 30 times since March 22. I only saw a hybrid island once. I know that 25 to 30 times isn't a lot, especially when people are making 300 trips to find specific villagers, but even then, it's safe to say they're pretty rare.

My first week playing I used to do a good amount of nook tours a day. I got my island flower hybrid island with the emperor butterflies everywhere and then months later I got a normal looking island with orange and blue pansies on it. It is a rare island so hopefully it'll pop up eventually for you.

if anyone could disprove that by getting a mystery flower island on this patch that'd honestly be great but otherwise it looks like it's gone. :/

but theres a data mine that explains the percentage and likelyhood of each island when you go on mystery islands

they’re very rare. though there’s a trick where if you do the delight reaction in front of orville until he blushes and have a watering cab equipped, that increases your chances of going to hybrid island - i know it sounds fake but i tried it last time i went island hopping and it worked ;u;
i actually heard of this trick and i tried it myself and it didnt work for me :c
then i saw a video saying that the statement is false so i lost all hope doing it ;0;
I thought this was datamined and shown not to be true, but wearing DAL merch was shown to help.
