Why have I never gotten a hybrid island?

I thought this was datamined and shown not to be true, but wearing DAL merch was shown to help.

I've seen money rock island ~2-4 times (cant properly remember), but never been to true tarantula island or the hybrid island.

I've never gotten hybrid island either. I got bamboo island once,gold nugget island once(once rock that only gives gold nuggets) and money rock island twice. Never got any other rare islands. At this point I only use the mystery islands to look for villagers

if anyone could disprove that by getting a mystery flower island on this patch that'd honestly be great but otherwise it looks like it's gone. :/

+1. I got flower mystery island once, but it was before the 1.2.0 patch. I have not seen it since that patch, and I've done a lot more island hopping post-patch than I did pre-patch. So I feel like I would've seen it by now if it existed.

There's a small group of trusted AC dataminers out there, and this is yet another piece of info they've put out. I have not seen them being wrong yet, so I see no reason to doubt them as a source.

Seems like there’s been some weird uptick in island spawns because last night and the night before I got tree island 1/2 and scorpion island multiple times.

Those used to be restricted to 1 visit per day. I wonder if that's changed since 1.2.0. I haven't seen any mention if that has changed or not.

it's less that I don't trust the dataminers and more that I was just holding out hope that it wasn't true & the islands still existed. :c

I typed that shortly after waking up with no coffee. NOW THAT I HAVE SOME. I should have been more clear. It was my wife and I both playing on separate switches. We got every rare island last night. It also happened Friday night so i DONT know. Usually just in spiral island hell

I started to play around April 11th, and I remembered I did encountered the hybrid island twice (lily and pansy) during the first two weeks since I was island hopping to get sprinkles and elvis after I got my first smug villager. I cannot remember is it after the patch or before the patch, but after that I have not encountered any hybrid islands even though I tried island hopping for over 100 times for my other dreamies.

I think they’re just extremely rare. I have only gotten one and it was pink/purple mums. I was looking for tarantula island, but I’ll take some pink and purple mums instead lol

I've been to twice - both with the same flowers. Didn't realize it was hybrid until the 2nd visit - that's when I stocked up Now these blue flowers are all over my island. LOL.
