I really think this is a very stupid mechanic to put in-game. Some carpets and wallpaper are only provided by Saharah, but Saharah doesn't always give you exclusives. Why does she give you the ones you can get from the Nooklings too and not just exclusives? Shouldn't she only give away exclusive carpets and wallpaper?

I managed to get the Saharah's Desert and Forest Wall from her today, but I'm still looking for the Summit Wall, 2 Forest Floors, and another Forest Wall. I resetted many times today to get better carpets and wallpaper to get what I want. But after losing patience, I had to give up on searching for carpets and wallpaper I want from her and boycott buying from her. Instead, I'll get it from somebody else.

I already had this same problem three years ago (I even mentioned in my Idea Book that she shouldn't even give non-exclusives), but now I decided to ask why they were doing it.

Yeah, this is so annoying. Sometimes I'm lucky and I get some exclusives, but most of the time I just get random stuff I could buy at the Nooklings' mall... I had to buy the exclusives I wanted somewhere else...

This game has many unnecessary restrictions and restricting game mechanics in it. It's quite frustrating. They may have well called it: "Animal Crossing: Loads of Customization but Tons of Unnecessary Restrictions". It's the same with the PWP pinging. Very annoying.

To make it harder to get what you want, duh!!

If I remember when she is going to be in town, I'll restart my game over and over until she gives me a wallpaper/carpet I don't have. Having multiple characters helps too

I just let it takes its course, I don't like many of her exclusives, so not overly bothered.
But I do use all my characters as each of them can get a w/p & carpet off her.
3k bells is not bad for a combo anyway. (it used to be 3k bells for a w/p OR a carpet, not both in acww; can't remember for accf!)

Exclusivity is part of the game, presumably to make us trade.

I don't trust Sahahrah's work.
The wallpapers and carpets which he sells are too random and unfitting for what I want for my house.

I don't dare to call him as a "she", since his smug voice and speech hints his true gender.

It's a stupid mechanic. More so because it used to be Saharah gave out carpet an Wendell gave out wallpaper so now Wendell isn't even in the game minus dreams which is lame. I've been trying to get a garden floor an after resetting for two hours gave up. You should just be able to order things from her honestly.

If Saharah only gave exclusive wallpaper & flooring, it would be easy getting them all.

I think they should do something like, 1 in 3 services will get you a new wallpaper and carpet. It makes it harder and ACNL doesn't have much challenge so it makes sense that they would put something like this in the game.

Somehow I am hypocritical when it comes to stuff like this. I wanted Saharah to stop giving non-exclusives, as well as the Group Mechanic to be eliminated or Snowboys to loosen requirements to get Snowman furniture when I am highly critical of Super Mario Galaxy for being too easy. But that's because I believe stuff like item gathering in Animal Crossing should be easier, but 3D Platformers should be much harder.

Pretty sure Saharah always gave exclusive items in Wild World, and I much preferred that. That excitement I had seeing him in town is no longer there since playing New Leaf, and why should it be there now that he's just another con artist like Redd most of the time?

It is annoying. Most of the time I never talk to her anymore because I don't want to keep resetting for something good. It is also hard to find her again sometimes after resetting.

If she didn't give out exclusive items people wouldn't bother talking to her, I think it is fun thing to have in game; it gives you one more thing to do and one more person to meet.

I really only like the lunar horizon wallpaper and now I have kt so I have little reason to talk to her anymore.

Pretty sure it's so you're encouraged to play and trade with others.

Someone on GameFAQs told me the same thing when I suggested getting rid of the group mechanic (which made some items sold very infrequently). I understand the fact they want to encourage trading to make the game more interactive, but they don't even realize:

-How infrequent some items are being sold in some towns (when they're sold a lot more often in others)
-How frequent you get Nookling items from Saharah (don't even get me started on the Common Wall or Common Floor)
-How rare the Cardboard Set and Sloppy Series items appear in the Re-Tail and Police Station
-How difficult it is to get the Snowman Series
-How rigged Featival? and Bunny Day are (like how grand prize tickets are more common than winning tickets with a worthless prize)

But some people don't want to trade with others :/ Since trading has risks and dealing with trying to "control" ur visitors, people would argue "then just don't trade with random people!" Well when the game sort of forces you to...

Personally think Saharah should only be allowed to give you exclusive materials such as the Sci-Fi Wall and Lunar Horizon. I cannot recall the number of times she has given me wallpaper that I have already owned, especially the Common Wall/Floor...

Maybe you could tell her a wish for the next time when she comes to your town and then you have to pay a little extra..? That would be cool! But she should stop to give non exclusives.

I wouldn't want Sahara to do only exclusives. I think it would be too easy to get rare items and would discourage a mechanic in the game that does help you get exclusives - feng shui.

Additionally I don't even like most exclusives. But I'm using feng shui anyway so I get at least one, usually two, exclusives when Sahara visits. I can't remember the last time I got two non-exclusive items.
