What's Bothering You?

glad to know my mom sees me as some ****ing lazy deadweight

i had a seminar from 8-12 and then we were meeting our extended family from 6 pm onwards. i thought i had nothing for the afternoon so i told her i was gonna get my nails cleaned

apparently i forgot my dad had a tracheostomy today at 3 pm and i forgot i said yes to it, but thinking about it the procedure was only 30 mins and it'd be a hassle to drive a separate car, so initially i wanted to back out (plus ive watched multiple tracheostomies in the past and will watch a whole lot more in the future). dad was okay with it because he doesnt really need me there and it's an easy procedure, but for some reason my mom took it personally, rolled her eyes, and told me "you really dont want to work do you? god you are so lazy." and i was like??? what is your problem?? it's 8 in the morning and you're ALREADY berating me for the smallest thing. sure lets forget ive been working and studying the past 2+ years clocking in 8-10 hours almost daily with NO holiday offs 💀 god forbid i take like 3 weeks of rest lmfao. and when i get my license next month im obviously going to work again???

this is just so telling how she wants me busy 24/7 because if i do nothing """"productive""" for a few days in a row suddenly im lazy and deadbeat. then when i complain she tells me "this isnt how i raised you" no you raised me to be burnt out to hell and back. god

I am so sorry you had that happen to you. Through the years I've known you on here, I've seen the occasional post about how hard you've been working towards your goals. An instance here or there. We all know you've put your time in and have done and accomplished so much. We're proud of you! My dad was the same way and I pretty much didn't have a childhood because of it and I resent it so much.

Embarrassed about something stupid I did. Got to finish up these last puzzles and then maybe step away. Need to try to post more later too to. I really wish I could be and behave normal.

no comments please

I'm still very unwell and I can't do anything about it. It's very obvious to me that something is wrong, but not to my parents. They don't know what I am going through and it's difficult to explain. I don't even know what the problem is but I feel like it's going to just continuously be treated like things it definitely isn't until it's too late. Can't afford a doctor anyway...
Or maybe I will get lucky and I recover after a month or so. I'm feeling doubtful about that.

Been looking for places to put in this egg 22 and can't find it smh

If you need a hint, try putting “Tomodachi Life” in the search bar and look for words that are similar to “weep” in the results.

The fact that the majority of young people nowadays don’t appreciate grunge music from the 90’s. They’re too caught up in the modern pop and rap stuff coming out. And let me tell you, it’s TRASH. It sounds like GARBAGE. The music is all electronically generated and the songs have no depth to them. It makes me really sad and angry at the same time.

Meanwhile, with grunge, it’s actual music being played. Nothing is fake. The grungy guitars are like god tier music for me. It’s my favorite music genre.

It makes me sad that all of these people are missing out on this music. They’re too occupied and blinded by artists like Drake and Taylor Swift. (Ugh. Gag me with a fork.) It’s so sad that these people will never know what real music with actual depth and structure sound like. It’s REALLY sad. They’re missing out on some great bands- like Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Soundgarden. (Just to name a few.) I feel really sad and angry about it. I’m one of the few people who came along after the 90’s who actively listens to this stuff.

I’d never thought I’d say this, but…
Ugh, kids these days.

They’re also getting dumbed down by their phones and social media. Let me tell you, this upcoming generation is NOT gonna be the sharpest. 😑

So I wanted to do certain business with my bank which was all fine to be done electronically and over the phone. No in-person paperwork required. I'm paranoid about identity theft stuff because of past experiences, so i made sure it was fine.

And then a couple of days later i get, in the regular mail, a not-very-well-sealed envelope from the bank. It has the paperwork with my full name, dob, ssn, address, phone #, account #s and bank routing #s, and all of my husband's information as well. 😑

I have family members who have to go through all kinds of nonsense because of identity theft, and I've lost money from it before (eventually the $ was replaced, but still).

It just seems a bit careless. Meh.

Coming from a fan of mostly underground music, whose closest friends are metal musicians, and who was born in the 90s: This mindset is old as time and has always been an egregious mischaracterization of both pop and hiphop. Top 40 radio lists do not reflect a genre; plenty of hiphop and pop artists make their own beats and at times play instruments. Genre also does not reflect depth or lyricism - there are plenty of hiphop and pop songs with emotional & social/political themes, and there are plenty of simple grunge, rock, punk, and metal songs about dumb trivial things as well and honestly, that's fine! Not all music has to be deep! Music can just exist to be fun! The beauty of it is that it's such an enormous spectrum, it'd be so boring if all music had the same structure to it. I guarantee you there's some pop songs that you find fun.

Grunge specifically has a very particular and moody sound too, and that's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea. That's fine, as I mentioned there's plenty of other genres with depth and that address the same issues with more upbeat or relaxing tones. Nothing is limited to one genre, you just have to look beyond what's on the radio.

My head feels really stuffy; it feels almost like the pressure I used to feel back when I was in college. I’m not stressed so might just be allergies or something.

I am offering all my collectibles and tbt for them

Your best bet is to make a thread in the TBT Marketplace if you haven't already. Good luck! 🐰

I came home to a letter about a supporting attendance review meeting next Tuesday. I was told at a maximising attendance meeting last autumn after a month-long absence (some of you may remember I was very sick during the TBT Fair) that this would occur after so many months as a check in, and I've compared the phrasing to a previous letter and it doesn't sound scary at all. But even with this logic and the knowledge that you can't be sacked at this type of meeting (those are called competency hearings) my brain is still in panic mode. I know my attendance has massively improved so please don't do this to me brain! I'm going to call the union in the morning to ask for a representative just to be on the safe side. 😅

It does make me glad I've a job interview in two days though. I don't know if I want to change jobs but it definitely seems important now to give the interview my best shot just to be on the safe side, y'know?
