What is your opinion on lazy villagers?

Hi! Hope you are having a great day. I wanted to ask y'all something, what is your opinion on lazy villagers in ACNH? Do you like them? Do you not like them? (Don't worry, I won't be offended if you say no )

My opinion on them is pretty mixed, with some being negative and others being positive.

I feel like lazy villagers stick out alot. You can 99.99% tell, just by looking at them, that a villager is a lazy. I'm all for lazy villagers, especially Lucky since he is so cute, but they got a few downsides. For one, I don't like how they talk about living with bugs, because I feel like that's some sort of a health issue one way or another. I also hate when they go, "I ATE A WHOLE 90 POUND BAG OF CHIPS AND STUFFED ALL THE CRUMBS UP MY BUTT CRACK" and stuff along those lines.

But I will always have a sweet spot for them because they are cute What about you?

The designs of them are really cute, and I like a lot of them, but I do get a bit grossed out by the things they say sometimes.

I'm not squeamish about them, I'm just concerned about how healthy it is to live in a bug-infested house.

I actually think the bug thing is kinda adorable with lazies lol. They've got little friends everywhere and they don't think anyone or anything is gross! Very wholesome to me c: I'd say that they're one personality types I am more fond of

Gosh... one of my favorite villagers, Elmer, is lazy, and it's been an acquired distaste. Many things, like the 4th-wall break and sharing foods with bugs are kinda funny the first time, but get old(and disgusting!) fast. And if I wanted to hear about the zillion pounds of food they were eating, I'd go play City Folk, where every villager feels the need to say, "Walking time! I just ate XX pounds of _____, so I'm feeling super bloated" every 2 minutes. As much as I like Elmer, as much as he was one of my first villagers and I care for him, I've gone no-contact.

You know it's bad when I'm talking to the Jocks more often.

I think you're really overthinking it, as I've an idea that the 'bugs' in a lazy villager's house are probably something akin to the little black (what we call) sugar ants that like to come in and make off with food particles rather than something like a scorpion hiding under the washing machine. (Thankfully our scorpions are not real dangerous and generally they stay outside.)

I've got into some pretty funny dialogue with the NH lazy villagers. If you only see what they say when you give them a gift you could really be missing out.

Sure they do! If you give them fruit as a gift they tell you they might even share it with the bugs in their floor boards. I usually give villagers fruit (3 coconut or 2 non-native), 3 pumpkins, or shells, however many it takes of whatever kind to add up to over 750 bells in sale price as they don't end up displacing furniture in their houses.

ETA: This game also has a lot of references and turns of phrase that may or may not be all that common these days, like how the Lazy villager usually says a bug whispered into their ear overnight with the plans for the DIY they're working on. 'Putting a bug in your ear" is an idiom that means giving someone a hint or an idea.

one of my favorite villagers are a lazy (drake)
and yea sometimes their post cards are a bit much but their bug thing is really cute.

I wish they would talk about more than bugs. I don’t mind it but it’s so repetitive they have no personality. There are some really cute lazy villagers too

Talk to them outside of gifting and stuff like that and you're likely to hear quite the tales.

Wanna know how I feel about them? If I was an Animal Crossing villager, very likely would I be a lazy villager. That’s what my personality matches most.

I would say they are okay though. I don’t like them as much as the Jock villagers, but still better than the Smug and Cranky villagers.

True that, I had forgotten--they do break the fourth wall and I haven't seen any of the others do that.

I love the lazy type villagers, they're so fun and silly!! The bug dialogue is particularly silly Honestly pretty iconic, it gives me a lot of nostalgia from when the game first came out

I like them! My favorite villager (Bob) is actually a lazy villager too so bonus points for that.

Also I’m neutral on their bug talk in NH. I get how it can be gross, but I also found it amusing. Not everyone has the same taste in humor, of course.
