What are some of your pet peeves?

-Being interrupted/talked over. if you do it even once i'm mad instantly
-people who walk around in stores coughing and sneezing openly and shamelessly (I hate the sound of people coughing even when they do cover it)
-people who don't tip service staff
-people who correct other people's spelling/grammar
-when someone approaches my dog when i'm out with him.. like i know he's cute but i'm just here so he can pee pls leave me alone

and like 10,000 others but i cant think rn

I really hate it when people are super-loud in public, to the point where you can hear their conversation from a good few feet away. Double points if they're high or drunk. I guess that's what I get for living near ASU...

People who pretend to be offended even though you know they are perf normal with a sense of humor otherwise.

At school when the teacher is like ''If you're quiet, I'll let you listen to music (or something like that)'', and then everyone is as loud as they can then complain and blame it on each other when the teacher gives a class detention T^T
What kind of mentality that is, I don't know xD

This girl in my form who tries way too hard to be popular. I don't like her but lots of people think she's my best friend because she follows me around everywhere -_- I know I'm not popular and pretty happy I'm not grouped with those idiots XD Every time something funny happens everyone laughs but that girl laughs hysterically- does she even know what is going on? -_-
Then 5 minutes after it's done SHE'S STILL GRINNING. She's really... dry... so maybe she should just be herself and quit trying to be popular :/ And leave me alone please. I don't like when people read over my shoulder (I write and draw a lot xD)

Easter Break- finally ^v^

I have a teacher who writes ambiguous homework questions and then takes tons of point off when we don't answer the question in the way she wanted. Sometimes we will even answer the literal question, only to then have the teacher say "This answer begs another implicit question that you didn't answer". *minus more points*

Just ask the question you intend to ask! Don't beat around the bush and punish those who can't read minds!

ppl who dont know what a pet peeve is my biggest pet peeve like half of the things in this thread arent even pet peeves

This thread was originally poorly worded and asked for behaviours we found 'offensive' and not our 'pet peeves'. That being said, being that a pet peeve is just something you find annoying I can't any comments here which mention stuff that couldn't be called a pet peeve.

"Low class behaviors" - what even.

Anyway. My own pet peeves... I don't know if there's a name for this, but it's when people say... for example, "decktop computer" instead of "desktop", or "worse comes to worse" instead of "worst comes to worst", or "play it by hear" instead of "play it by ear" - I know it's probably due to just hearing these terms and expressions used instead of having read them, and I would NEVER berate someone for saying these things if English is their second language before anyone goes down that route. I don't care to correct people's grammar or spelling. It doesn't matter to me. But for some reason, things like those I mentioned above never fail to make me cringe a little.

...But so do the overly-zealous grammar-and-spelling sticklers online. Or people whose sole contribution to discussions (or even arguments) consist of correcting someone else's spelling - you know, when folks pop into a thread to say "I think you meant your instead of you're" - bruh. :/

Whenever people play their headphones super loudly out in public I'm always a touch peeved as well. It's rude. :/ Okay, it's safe to assume that anything interfering with other people's experiences while they're out and about in the world = a pet peeve of mine.

Also... People giving incorrect/harmful info when there is a better alternative...? If that counts? Example being when people say that you should put acetone (nail polish remover) into your nail polish if it's gotten thick. No. NOOO. Buy thinner. Putting nail polish remover inside your nail polish will destroy it over time, and who knows how many bottles people've ruined because of this weird false info spreading. So much money wasted. Dude.

This last one is TBT/forum-related but whenever you're setting up a trade with someone and they PM you like 5 times over the span of a minute, or post on your wall/VM you/ping you/whatever over and over again demanding a response when, in all likelihood, you're probably just not in the right tab. Or maybe you're getting a drink or something. I'm online a LOT but I don't just mash refresh on forums all day. Don't be that person. Chill and wait a couple minutes.

There is a huge difference between "cold" and "raw". Cold is cold. Raw is mind-numbingly cold that it's absolutely bitter and any exposed skin hurts

if thats the case then i dont think 25 degrees is "raw."

Hmm My pet peeves are:
"Why don't you have kids? You're running out of time"... hmm, shut up.
When people buy/adopt pets, and care for them poorly-- that's how we acquired pets. One poor bearded dragon was so skinny, dehydrated and malnourished that he almost died. I had to feed him via syringe (he's much better now).
Selfish people
People who lie to cover up a lie.
Those who cough into their hands instead of their arm. Are you going to touch someone after that? Seriously.
Those who act SO superior and judge everything that others do. Mellow out and worry about you.

  • "Friendly reminder : )"
  • The :x emoticon, especially on Skype.
  • Zero Suit Samus's perpetual "pissed-off" expression.
  • When people end statements with question marks????
  • Guilt tripping people into liking or sharing a post.
  • People walking slowly in narrow hallways or stairways.

when people are watching tv/reading and they can't hear other around them
spitting
cursing
men with girlish long hair
kids that don't listen

and so many more

People who seriously asks I want kids when I "get older". No.

Also people who intentionally bring their huge prams on the train/bus even though the kid is like 7 just cause free ride -_-

Obsessive people (meaning someone obsessing over a band so much that they somehow know where the sleep every tuesday or some crud like that) and think you should be shunned for not liking them, like dude chill I can like/not like whatever i want.

saying "pacific" instead of "Specific"

People who poke you again after you say stop

People who suddenly stop in a hallway/isle and block the whole path

People who knock stuff over in stores and don't pick it up

people who leave they're trash anywhere other than a garbage can or recycling bin (this is a big one, and is fueled also by the fact that when i was in high school i asked a guy at the table adjacent to throw his stuff away and he said "why? it's the janitors job" no you **** face it isn't they work hard enough without having to pick up after your lazy behind)

people refusing to try new things

people hating things because someone told them they should hate it

"I can't live without my phone"

"That's good but.."

saying "it's not bad" and acting like it's a compliment

ignorant people who think they aren't

when someone is unnecessarily rude (especially to store clerks etc.)

smacking while eat/chewing gum

- When you're watching/playing/doing something and somebody comes along and starts doing something else and making noise (my brother is terrible for doing this, especially annoying when I'm watching a movie)

- People who litter, especially when there's a bin like right within visual distance.

- People who drive down residential areas late at night/early in the morning as loud as they can or with music blasting.

- When people don't put games away in the correct box. No, friend, Pikmin 3 does not go in the Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze box. I know it's yours but stop doing it.

- People who start having a conversation in the middle of a shop isle. Take it outside and get out of the friggin' way.

- Messy people. I'm a bit messy but mines kind of an 'organised mess' where I know where everything is (more due to a lack of space), but I'm more talking about 'clothes all over the floor and stuff literally everywhere and anywhere' kind of mess...It's disgusting. At least with my 'mess', all the different things are still together, I don't have socks or books mixed in with my CD's...

Also people who intentionally bring their huge prams on the train/bus even though the kid is like 7 just cause free ride -_-

As well as this, people who bring their kids onto public transport and just let them scream, cry or run around. If you can't control or shut your kid up, do not take them somewhere where strangers are going to have to put up with your problem for the next xxx amount of time. It's even worse when the kid screaming is louder than my iPod on max volume so I can't drown it out...I don't have kids, why should I have to deal with it?

People who are OK w/ getting drunk and drinking and smoking tobacc-y and such, but have a serious issue w/ morphine and other opiates, coke, weed, etc.! GODBLESS the F***ING HYPOCRISY!! 8D
