Villagers you wouldn't have searched for, but are now permanent residents?

I love my weirdo alligator Del!! Bro I am so grossed out by bus and I don't want to hear about how they whisper *anything* to you and your house is A DUMP. Yet somehow you have managed to make your way into my heart, warts and all. Way to be, you gross weirdo. WAY TO BE.

I've never been super into dreamies and popular villagers and all, so when I was island hopping, I've found Coco, Beau, and Rudy. All of them are never to leave because I've become to attached to them lol.

Jambette and Peggy! Found them both on NMT islands when I first started and man, I love them so.

Judy, she is very likely to become a permanent resident. I was actually villager hunting a couple of days ago and I found Megan and almost picked her up. I was on video chat with my friend, I only had 11 tickets and this was my 3rd. I started to get disheartened after a few more until my 8th ticket where I squealed so my friend asked me who I just found. I told her to search up Judy and my friend was like get her, she is your aesthetic and she is adorable, you will regret it if you dont. So now I have Judy on my island and I am already attached to her.

I can name a few!! I never would’ve actively searched for them but I don’t think I would let them go now.
Pashmina, Jacob, and Pompom. I don’t what it is that makes me like them. Maybe it’s because my island residents feel like such a tight-knit community already and it would break my heart tearing that apart. I’m already have a super tough time letting go of Phil. I deeply regret it so I’m probably going to buy an amiibo to get him back. Other than that my other villagers are three that I was wanting to search for but accidentally stumbled up upon, and the other two are villagers that I don’t like very much and did not search for.

A lot of my starters and early-on randoms would never have been deliberate picks but I'm either keeping them or have had an overall positive experience with them. I also don't have a set dreamie list for Espera which helps me accept more villagers for at least some time.

Ursala and Billy, the starting two, are probably staying forever. Sprinkle and Clay, starter peppy and lazy respectively, are *probably* staying because I just can't think of getting rid of them, but they're glued while Billy and Urs are cemented if yknow what I'm saying. Naomi, my first snooty, was about the last one I'd think to take in, but she was alright while she stayed - quite kind, anyway. Sandy and Astrid have been cool and interesting villagers, both campsite finds, but I let Astrid go a while ago and I will move Sandy on eventually. Spike I stumbled upon in a failed attempt to summon a snooty villager through island hopping with only 7 tickets - he grew on me but I let him go eventually.

Fauna and Groucho both fall into that category for me. At first they felt like great villagers until I would get my amiibo's in, but now I'm unable to let them go, even though I kinda have to because of their personalities already being represented on my island. Groucho asked to move recently and I was hoping for him to ask at that point, but I just couldn't let him go. He is the best singer on my island.

Cranston! When I started playing I had no idea the first 3 villagers would get reserved pretty much the next day. I looked for 3 villagers but didnt like 2 of them. I had marina reserved from ones i knew. The other two were sprinkle and Cranston. Didnt look them up and when they moved in I thought i got lucky since neither were bad! Cranston has been on my island ever since and I absolutely love him!

my sweet bb Apple. Had been island hopping for hours and I was tired of it so I just took her, and now I think shes the cutest thing and I'm keeping her permanently

I'd have to say Cherry. I only picked her up from the mystery island in the first place because I needed a sisterly/uchi villager, as I didn't have one on my island as of yet. As I interacted with her more though, she slowly started to grow on me, and now I just absolutely love her fun goth aesthetic. I plan to build a spooky diner named after her, and also move in lucky as I love shipping animal crossing villagers, and they just seem perfect for each other. Also as a side note, after I looked at a list of sisterly/uchi villagers, she's like the only desirable one on there? The devs really dropped the ball when it came to that personality type, but i'm glad at least cherry's in the mix so it isn't a complete lot of trash.

bruce!! I picked him up before I decided I wanted all my villagers to be deer/goat (mostly because I <3 chevre lol) but now he's fitting right in c:

Ed. But I first got Ed back in New Leaf, so technically this might not fit the criteria for this post. But I had been looking for Julian back when he was the craze, and I wasn't very good at making bells or TBT at that point so I was just kind of stuck resetting the campsite till I got him. But then I messed up and went a few days ahead, and there was a new plot there. It was Ed's house. Ed is a blue smug horse, just like Julian, except not a unicorn and with a yellow mane & tail. I actually fell in love with his personality so I decided to keep him instead of Julian! Now he's one of my top favorite villagers, and I bought an amiibo specifically of him just so that I could move him right into my New Horizons island. :)

Probably Tangy. I wasn't really a fan of her in past games but she has quickly become one of my favorite villagers.
I love her so much!

Colton 🥺 found him on a nook mile island, moved him in to get some diy's and reactions, he's my fav smug villager now sorry Marshal

Olive! She showed up in my campsite and I thought she was so cute. I usually don’t get attached to villagers but I can’t let her go!
