Turnips in Cooking

The various cookery furnitures have been refusing to register that I have turnips in my inventory (so I sold them at a loss last week before remembering I had a username here)

Is this something that's happening to a lot of people? Does anyone know how to fix it, or are we still waiting on some kind of patch?

you have to separate them. like, click the stack and choose "take 10" or whatever. it's pretty annoying, and i didn't realize until after i tried to use them with the full stack of 100 in my inventory. doesn't make a great deal of sense since a) you can only buy them in stacks of 100 and b) it's able to separate x amount from other ingredient stacks like tomatoes.

I’m guessing it’s like a failsafe mechanic? Because turnips represent a lot of money I guess they want you to manually seperate turnips for cooking so you don’t cook with all of them and then be like
‘oh I regret this’

You don’t have to buy 100 you can just buy 10. You have to buy them in stacks of 10

oh, really? whack. i usually buy 1,000 at once, so i wouldn't know that, but it doesn't make much of a difference since you can remove the 10 from a bundle of 100 anyway. it's just annoying if you're buying turnips anyway (since you're not likely to only buy 10 in that case) and then the game, for some reason, can't deduce 10 from the 100 in your pocket.

Thank you all, I am going to try this as well... I have not been able to craft or cook with the turnips I buy on Sundays and I have been thinking it was a glitch! I have been able to craft barrels with the Turnips Joan gives me from ACP. Thank you all for this advice!

Once you have the recipes, if you have the HHP expansion and want more turnips for cooking, visit the hospital on Mondays. Joan is there getting a checkup. If you talk to her, she will give you 100 turnips.
