I know there have been tons of various cycling advice threads but digging through isn't helping here. Anyone have any advice on the quickest and best way to try to target cycle out one specific villager in a personal town without causing too much ruin. I have already lost one villager doing this which messed up the towns plan...because I am on a Sunday and Thurs is Harvest Day in the time this older town is on. I have been jumping forward three days then have to go back to before day starts then again to Sunday to avoid the holiday.

Situation I had been doing this a while, got a turn down, jumped by accident to the holiday and loaded with my perm alt which was the mistake as he may have had different status with that character who knows or hadn't been loaded in longer, no warning just bam was told someone was already going had to move them temp. Situation is only using mayor now, targeting one villager who is about a mid level friend. It may want to bump out people the alt hasn't been interacting with as much in the past the newer ones, but has been here too long to delete that alt. I can literally go hours on end and not get this villager to ping, want to keep town pretty, not lose anyone else, what can I do while cycle jumping with mayor to try to edge her over the line....any tips on a stubborn. She is not a tenth. Thanks.

I usually just TT day by day in my live-in towns, and I've yet to have any bad accidents with moving villagers. Although I suppose it isn't a particularly fast way of cycling.

I think the 2 days forward, 2 days back has been tested more, and there's chances it can mess up? Not sure, someone will have to corroborate.

But I think the 6 days forward/back method is recommended for this? I've never used it much. On the day someone has pinged and you told them no, TT 6 days forward, save and quit, then TT 6 days back. Someone else will ping. If it's a villager you want to keep, tell them no. If it's the villager you wanted to move, congrats!

There's also a method using the 1 year/1 year/5 days trick, where you can usually get someone to ping:

But like I said, I usually just TT 1 day at a time. It's not fast, but I've yet to lose any villagers with it!

Yeah, I am only targeting one, but have a packed house. Ten villagers, the one time I jumped five days ahead someone was boxed right after a turn down save and quit, am finding it has to be four ahead and one back to be safe but that's landing me on a holiday so I guess am playing through this day and trying it Monday instead. This town is still behind time, and Harvest Fest is smack in the mid week but need her and only her out ASAP, so been trying days now..never her.

Here's what I did when I was trying to move out Julian. It took me about a week, but I didn't lose any villagers on accident. I had to be careful, since I had "rare" dreamies in my town and I was playing in Japanese, so I think it works pretty well.

Time travel day by day until someone pings you to move out. You can follow this guide to see if anyone is thinking about moving.
Once someone pings you, either accept or deny their request.
If you denied their request -
Time travel five days forward. You can go day by day if you would like. Villagers will generally ping you every five days if the game is trying to kick one of them out.
If you accepted their request - Time travel to the day that they are in boxes. Then time travel day by day (usually five is all it takes) until someone else pings you.

Also, here's a tip: it usually takes five days for a villager to ping you, and they will be in boxes five days later. So you have a bit a wiggle room when trying to get someone to ping. c:

*This guide has been "tweaked" to fit the fact that you have 10 villagers. Let me know if it goes down to 9 or 8*

I also just wanted to stay in March while I was to kick out Julian, so I would just go five days forward, and then start going five days back.

Ok I want to put a disclaimer first that I can't be 100% certain this works perfectly, but it's the best method I found and it helped me get rid of a specific villager without losing anyone else (even though there is talk of cycling in the guide, it works fine for getting rid of one). this IS the two days forward, two days back method someone warned about up above but honestly every time someone wanted to move I convinced them to stay until I found the right person. There are certain things to note, even though the original poster covers most of the things it helps to look around the thread for different peoples' experiences. I don't remember if it's mentioned by the thread starter but it's important the days you move between (for example tues + thurs) don't have any events that day. but i think most important things to remember are covered in the thread.

so yeah just follow that closely. it's pretty simple. just takes a while when you have a specific villager to get rid of.

There's a method I use when I want to move out specific villagers. I don't have a cycling town and this method is pretty safe as long as you don't get too distracted. I found it around the forum after I joined but I can't find that thread again, so here's a thread where I describe it (scroll down for my reply where I explain it): http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?274222-cycling-question

If you need more help with it, let me know.

My only issue is this is an older town, and I am on Sunday or four days forward one back would likely work to stay on date when going back...but this town is hitting harvest festival this Thursday which means avoid thurs at all cost. So have been having to go three then back to before 6 am on sun then sun again...so I figure play through Sunday then start trying on mon so I never hit thurs. I will look into the posted methods though, but I hate it becoming weedy and when someone pings when I go back instead of ahead for it it's not so bad then if it's not her I go forward and back to same day for the ping not further ahead. I lost Skye and had to move her because I jumped four days hit harvest day and she was boxed...right after a turn down so events are bad but may play day through to mon try four and back one does count as the fifth. It used to work with ten at three days one back but need to get back on the five day schedule as going back the extra day is torture. Events can make you lose all control somehow or it was because I started with perm alt...who knows if it tracks his days played differently. I may be mixed up and they ping quicker with nine but I swore three would do it and one back, oh well back to trying.
