Switch showing friends offline when they’re not

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue where your friends are always shown offline even when they’re not? Today I wanted to play Splatoon with a friend but it showed they were offline. I’ve noticed for awhile a lot of my friends are shown offline all the time.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I rather not have to contact support since I’ve been dealing with Hoyolab support and can’t take any more stress from bad support service.

I’m pretty sure it’s an option they’ve chosen. You can make your status not visible to people so it just always says you’re offline.

Thanks Doo! I forgot it was an option.

I just checked and I had my setting to no one seeing my status. I’ll have to see if my friend’s settings were like that too and if that is why we couldn’t play together.

to my knowledge, hiding one's online status doesn't prevent online play. so if you were unable to connect, then something else must be up
