It just froze (screen was black) when I was trying yo get into animal crossing. When I tried shutting it down or restarting, it would not respond. Now it is turned off but won’t turn on. It was at 92% charged; I had the charger port fixed months ago so it isn’t the battery.

Update: The switch lite feels warm right now even though it shows no sign of being on.

Anyone have any idea what is going on and how to fix this?

I just ordered a new switch litr, do I need to start over (acnh) since this was not saved to an sd card or icloud since I don’t have nintendo online for this account?

AC is the only game that I play on my switch lite; this save file has my second island. If the issue is not fixable, do you think it is worth getting a new switch lite for?

I didn’t get to delete my data since I had no idea this was going to happen. I’d hate to get rid of this and it ends up being fixable and my accounts are still on there. So I’m not sure what to do with this. Would a repair shop be able to fix a switch lite that won’t turn on?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry for the late response but I know of an issue (which the 3DS also had) where sometimes the system doesn't fully go into sleep mode and usually the solution is holding down the power button for a certain amount of time (I don't remember how long) to turn it off. The problem is the Switch doesn't have the lights that the 3DS did so you cannot tell it is actually still on.

I understand it's been a couple of days now. Did you ever figure out the problem or is it still doing this?

I was going into a game when it crashed. No idea what the problem was. It was at 93% battery. I assumed it was dead but after reading your response, I tried turning it on and it turned on to show it was low battery. So you maybe be right, though no idea why it crashed when I was going into AC. It never did that before. I am guess it is at the end of its life. Thanks so much for replying 🙂. I wouldn’t have tried to turn it back on had you not replied. I might not need to go to the repair shop now. I already got my new switch lite since I assumed it was dead. I’ll have to see once it is charged
