I wasn't really that excited about this update, because I absolutely hated swimming in new leaf. Mostly because it was really clunky and I hated the starting and stopping, the moving in small bursts when you dived.

Swimming might still be slow (which I think it should be) but they completely smoothed it out! Swimming is fluid now. And sea creatures don't escape the boundaries constantly. And there are no obstacle jellyfish.

I went from being pretty anti swimming to a really big fan, so I'm happy to see such a big improvement over New Leaf!

What do you all think?

The swimming in this game is faster than nl. The sound of the water is satisfying! The diving and seeing my character go under water is amazing. The water looks waay better. And it's just perfect! Even the flip and cannon ball is a nice touch.

Oh and if the swimming was fast imo I think it would feel weird. Like my character is rushing to swim. He should enjoy the swim,,

I like it better too, it's relaxing. And there seems to be a lot more creatures to catch... in New Leaf sometimes I'd be swimming forever. And it's great that they don't escape under the rope!

It's also pretty profitable. Better than bug catching or fishing, I think... or maybe I just enjoy it more.

That is good to know. I havent opened my game in a while so i have yet to try anything from this update, but glad to know that it feels improved even though i had no real problems with it in nl.

Swimming feels a little bit better.. One thing I really noticed is that diving is so much fun here than it was in NL. It used to be slow and clunky and almost all creatures try to run from you or they will cross the barricade and escape. Now, my only problem is trying to catch the Giant Isopod and the big sea creatures (I did catch two of them though). .

I like it so far! I think I'll be doing a lot of diving over the next week, so hopefully it won't get boring.

I like seeing my island from a new perspective as well. I already took some photos in the water, next to my peninsula and next to my lighthouse and diving in from the south beach. It's kind of fun watching the villagers on the shore as well.

i agree! i was never really much of a fan of swimming in new leaf, i didn't do unless i had to.
and i don't know if it's the newness of it right now, but i'm finding it a lot more relaxing and enjoyable in this game!

I love it. Absolutely love it. It's just so relaxing especially at night. Not only that, but the first thing I wanted to check was if we could dive into the ocean from clifftops like in NL. You can! From the back of the island at least, if you have cliffs.

Caught my first specimen: moon jellyfish

Instant Stardew Valley vibes ❤

I liked it better in NL.
It feels heavy like I'm swimming through mud.

The fast creatures are a nightmare.

The only positive is they don't escape under the net, and you don't get stung by jellyfish.

I would have also liked the pirate set from Pascal, instead of more useless girly DIY's I'll never use.

I think I'm just impatient person cause I think it's just as slow and tedious as NL lmao. At least it looks better now and you can use the Nookphone while swimming
