I was considering buying another game card so that I could have a main town and a cycling town, but money is really tight considering I just went to a concert last night and spent well over $150. I have a friend who plays ACNL, and so does her brother. Would her town be transferred onto my DS? Also, would this affect her town that she has on her own system? Lastly, would this affect my first copy of the game? We were considering just swapping game cards when we saw each other and cycling from each other's cards, but we're both worried about our towns. If someone could please answer these I would be so grateful :)

I have two towns and play both on one ds and I have no problems.

Thank you! But do you know if it would keep someone else's town too? my goal is to use someone else's card while keeping their town the exact same on their ds, so that when I was done with it they could use their card again like nothing happened.

Nope, perfectly fine with two game cartridges. Nothing will erase over the other because I believe the memory saves in the cartridge. Two digital copies however won't work!

Back in wild world and the pokemon SD/DS days, my sisters and I would have technically the same games so my system had used three wild world a or two pokemon ruby when we borrowed eachothers DS/SD etc.

I never thought to ask if it would delete the game back then, if it did I'd be screwed. Hence I don't think they'd make it that way for those who had thought like I did.

It won't affect their town. Each game card and town saves to the game card not the ds. Say you play her town on your ds and your town on her ds nothing will happen because everything saves to the game card.

Make sure to check the in-game time before you start playing. The game time automatically changes to the system's time, which can be annoying if you want to TT on one file but not the other.
