I'm always surprised when I see people willing to pay millions of IGB for villagers lol

even if it was a villager I really wanted, I don't think I'd even spend 1mil, I'd just wait for them to get in my campsite or move in randomly. I only have like 4.6mil so my initial reaction is always just "holy poop!!" when I see people offering like 50mil+ like how do u even get that many bells

I'm also amazed by some people's devotion to this game, like some people say they have like 4 game cards and they maintain a town on all of them. I only have 1 copy of new leaf and even that is way enough responsibility for me :p

I hope I don't sound rude or anything hahah I'm just sorta sharing some thoughts

No offense, it's your opinion. And you are right: everyone has their own way of playing the game. Like anything else, some players are more full-time, like myself, and for others, it's a temporary diversion here and there. Just so long as everyone enjoys themselves, it's all good.

Eh, it's different for everyone. If I never knew about this website, I would've thought selling villagers was crazy. When I first heard about villagers going for millions of bells I was amazed. I was like you and thought that I could just get them through my campsite, but eh. Now if a villager I want is in boxes in someone else's town, then I'll be willing to pay the price. Luckily now this place is all about tbt. About 2-3 years back, it was all about igb which I didn't have. (I still don't have now lol.)

Yeah it's a bit pricey! But that's where all the fun and excitement can come from! I always like a good watch on bids to see how high and what the final bid is, that always amazes me xD

I wonder how the first couple people who were so devoted to the game even got so many bells. If the amount is cycling around, who keeps "generating" them? Someone out there is still catching fish and selling them for bells, that surprises me.

I dunno, I get pretty intense when I want a villager, although I really don't think I could ever pay 10s of millions of bells like I see some people pay. Plus, I've recently discovered the thing about starting on a new character to refresh the campsite, so getting a specific villager in the campsite just sounds easier tbh.

I worked hard for my bells catching bugs all night and time travel just to catch bugs, usually made 1-2mill a night. But even if I'm rich, I would never buy villagers. I got all of my villagers for free outside TBT. I think paying with forum bells is way more affordable though.

I wonder, too, how people are able to make that many bells. But I guess if you time travel a lot, then you can get a bunch of IGB in intetest, too?

Right now, I don't have a whole lot of IGB, so I wouldn't spend an egregious amount on a villager. But, if I were to one day be rich, and had nothing else to buy, why not. TBT def makes it a lot easier to be able to purchase villagers. (In fact, I just bought one tonight, yay!)

I agree haha I never understand why people would be willing to pay 60 million bells for a villager when for all they know that villager might randomly move in one day in the future!

I think the game is designed to let you move villages items and money although, i agree, over time its gotten a bot absurd. I dont think the gamemakers intended a villager to go over 50 mil in game bells! But i do agree with another poster, after playing a long time you can accumulate a lot and start running out of things to spend it on.

I agree with you. I'm Swiss and I'm also regristrated at a German forum, and there all villagers (does not matter if tier 1/5) are free. You just give them to someone, and I think that's better. But I understand when people wanna make money with them.
I agree also with the second thing, I never could have more than 2 town, one main and second cycling, but even that would be too much^^

I just bought my first villager for 50tbt and gave away about 5mil bells in giveaways and I actually got such a happy rush out of doing both that I feel like I don't want to stop.

yea that's pretty much my philosophy, hahah

if I had a ton of bells to spare and it was a villager I wanted then yea I'd probably do it. I've bought a villager for tbt before too but never with igb :')

I think that buying villagers for 50 mil is a little crazy, but after reading up on the comments I do agree that eventually you run out of stuff to spend bells on, so even buying villagers for a high price isn't all that much of a loss. Especially if you have more bells than you know what to do with. Personally I wouldn't pay that much for a villager. Even if I wanted them really badly, I really want Pudge but if somebody was selling him for 20 mil, i'd probably just about cry. I'm dirt poor in this game, so even 1 mil is expensive for me. LOL.

Catching bugs on the island, selling items here or on reddit and/or cheating.

But yes OP people sure do waste a lot of bells for their dreamies. The most I've spend was 5mil for Beau. After that I just looked for blogs on tumblr who gave villagers for no cost.
