ok, ugh, I hate this so much but it needs to be said. I swear there are people that are complete ruiners to this game and its cool features. trolling is not appreciated and today for the 100 millionth time guess what! I GOT TROLLED!! UGHHHHH. heres the story:


I usually go to the North American islands as I only know English and French and a bit of Spanish. So that's what I did, first time at the club tortimer in my new town I was excited.
I was the only one on the island when I arrived but maybe a minute later some guy joined from Newfoundland and Labrador. He immediately told me that he was poor. I looked at his TPC and said he had his town since 2016, I decided to play along. I replied back saying same, I started my town a week ago. He said how much do you have. and I said 1,000 which was a lie but whatever, he said he had 1 bell. I then said congrats, he then asked if I was making fun of him. I said no im just not giving you money.
I then went to go fishing and he kept talking to me, he asked if I liked his hat, I was gonna reply but another person came. she was from Quebec, he immediately asked if she was rich, I then said he is going to ask for money. she then told him she is not giving her hard-earned bells to him. He then said fine. she asked for our friendcodes and I said I don't have mine memorized she laughed and said that I was a nice person. he then asked us if we wanted money. she asked him to prove he had money, I decided to ignore them. maybe 2 minutes later she left.
I then was getting ready to leave and said, "Look your like 10, stop trolling its not nice and people don't like it" he then said "Your like 5" and then either shut off the game. I didn't really care. I was really pissed tho about people trolling others. I will say that ive had amazing people on the island that were nice and exchanged FC's and stuff and played in towns.

does anyone else have any annoying stories like these? I wanna see what people have experienced as well

I've only went to the Club Tortimer island a handful of times back when the game first came out, mainly looking for island-exclusive stuff. I really hate playing with randoms online. It doesn't matter which game. If I'm playing AC online with someone, I feel like I'd rather play with someone here and either visit their town or them come to mine. We can go to our own island after that if we want. Generally people here are far more trustworthy than whatever randoms you find you Club Tortimer.

Yeah :/ I a few days ago, I was on Club Tortimer and some guy was like "How many bells do you have?" I was like "eh, no much tbh" (which was a lie haha :v), but then he said that my badges said that I had lots of money (I have the silver bell badge), and I was like :v "welp I only have like 100k, so". But yeah, he did that to pretty much everyone who came onto the island. It's the worst when there's a hacker there that traps you outside and basically ruins the whole island D: Although that doesn't happen TOO often, haha xD

Yeah, that’s really the worst I used to go on Club Tortimer a lot when I reaaaalllly wanted a pink wetsuit (worth it!) and some people are pleasant but there are others who just ruin it for everyone. A particular one that really gets me is when they ask to go on a tour and then just leave their 3DS on brb for a bit while you’re trapped on the island. I’ve had to reset a few times because of that which is really annoying when you’ve just been beetle hunting :/

one time some rando guy came to the island, saw me, (i was wearing a dress at the time, which is no big deal) yelled "TRANS" in all caps and just left. i still have the screenshot cos it was such a weird moment.

moral of this story is that at club tortilla, sometimes you meet people that are fun to talk to and hang out with, and sometimes you meet lil kiddos being obnoxious and begging for bells. c'est la vie.

Not long ago, I was at Club Tortimer Island in search of a silver axe, and ran into a friendly hacker. He did all the craziest stunts you could think of - like spawn cedar trees with lights on them, perform the fainting spell form getting bitten by a scorpion/tarantula, and even dropping insects on the ground that could be picked up. He even gave me a Silver Axe, along with a Gold Can - of which I now use exclusively to breed flowers on my own town's island!

The online island is such an unpredictable place where anything can happen, good or bad. I like the international island a lot more, as it adds to the wonder of not quite speaking other languages... Going on the island later at night or in the middle of the day also helps, as trolls are less likely to go at those times.

It makes me wonder though! Are there as many trolls in other areas of the world? I hate the people that just lock you on the island or see you catch a rare fish/bug and decide to error or ask you for something and threaten to error if you dont give them what they want ��

the last time i was on club tortimer was in my old town, Kanto, and i had a pretty good experience! i met a couple of nice people and we went on some tours together, i earned some medals and we talked a little bit. : ) i haven't been there in awhile, but i've read some scary stories about it - like, people being stuck on the island, and when they try to leave on the boat with kapp'n, they loop back onto the island and can't leave. luckily that weird stuff hasn't happened to me yet, or i haven't met any trolls or anything. sorry to those that have, club tortimer is supposed to be fun.

I made an account just to share a similar experience I had a few hours ago. I hope this helps someone.

My brother was on a CT island alone, and a girl joined and asked if he was willing to donate some bells. Just like in your situation, she's had her town for a while (since 2014) and she had a few basic bronze badges on her TPC. My brother agreed and dropped some bells on the ground (about half a million). She then congratulated him and said that he passed a "social experiment". She asked him if he was a hacker and he said no.
Around this time was when I happened to join the same island. She did the exact same "social experiment" to me and I offered her even more money (like 15 piles of 99000 bells). The weird thing is that she asked me for my FC, but she didn't ask my brother.
By this point I had a feeling that something wasn't right, so I asked her if she wanted to be friends with me only because I had more money. Obviously she said that wasn't true, and she claimed it was only because I was "cool".
Then she asked if she could have my email so that we can share FCs. This was when I knew that it wasn't just an innocent little "social experiment". So my brother and I decided to act like little children and made her so impatient she had to leave.

My theory is that this girl goes around asking people for money, and looks for people who are the richest. Then when she gets their FCs, she has access to their towns and can steal money or even grief their towns. I'm assuming this because she wanted to be friends with me, but not with my brother who was not as rich as me.
I'm also assuming that she could be a hacker too because I don't think she would want to share friend codes with another hacker and risk ruining her own town. But then again, I could be wrong, but then again, she claimed to be 15 yet talked like an adult anyway, so I don't know.

I know this is a lengthy post, but I wanted to share this, just in case I'm not being paranoid and that something sketchy really is going on. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

I'm pretty sure one guy crashed the server by digging too many holes. He tried to cover the entire island in holes and then I had a disconnection all of a sudden.

Oh, trust me, those people SUCK.

It's either 9 yr olds begging for bells, creepy teenagers, or hackers/trollers.

I could tell many stories, but I'll only tell one.

I went to the Island once, wearing my crown (as I usually do), and there were 3 people there already. One of them had the royal crown, one was a girl (think her name was Bella?), and a guy who was completely neutral and didn't bother with any of us. Me and the other crown guy started talking, when the girl came up to us and said, "can you gimme your crowns, i deserve it more than you"

OH.HELL.NO.

I said, "why should we? we worked hard to pay for these. Why don't you do the same?". she told me to shut up, and then called me a b**ch. I was not about to deal with this 5 yr old brat. The other crown guy also started arguing with her. "i hate you guy, your rude and ugly" (she had horrible grammar). "says the one who called us b**ches," I argued. This then caught the attention of the neutral guy. Before we know it, we were all arguing, while I'm just telling myself "I just want that toy hammer". lmao. She kept cursing and saying offensive things, like "u b**ches suck, u better gimme ur krowns". At that point, I flipped the Wi-Fi switch. (sorry for my language, it was part of the story).

I have heard many many stories about club tortimer. I've only gone there a couple times to check the items that are on sale there, done a tour here or there when somebody else was there, and collected some bugs and fruits to sell. I got the error message once but I didn't lose anything important, so so far I'm really glad!

There used to be a lot of beggars on islands and annoying people, but I haven't seen those lately. Nobody asks me for money anymore and people are nice or mind their own business. When I don't want to be bothered I used another character that has no achievements.

I met all kind of weird people in the past, some were really rude just because my character was tanned, or because I could speak French. One that made me laugh though was a "thief" from my own place saying "GIVE ME ALL YOUR BELLS!!QUICK!!!!" if not what? Are you going to shoot me with your rod? I trolled those rude ones sometimes, gave them money, then turn off the power before they could save it

I can never really find anyone interesting on CT. Because all of these “Give me bells”, “Are you a hacker” cliche type of people there. But when I am actually there, I usually stand there and do something else, but not this site.

Very seldom do I ever friend someone there, which is why I go to CT.
