people on club tortimer

I?m kind of scared to go to club tortimer. I think I might be socially awkward and don?t really know how to interact with people at the island ( sometimes I just wanna catch bugs and that?s it)

I think it?s easier for me to play on the island with friends from here or people that I know. Strangers scare me a little. Specially since one time I was stuck with holes in my town after I returned from the island. They went away though after I shut the game...but still, it was a scary situation for me.

One that made me laugh though was a "thief" from my own place saying "GIVE ME ALL YOUR BELLS!!QUICK!!!!" if not what? Are you going to shoot me with your rod? I trolled those rude ones sometimes, gave them money, then turn off the power before they could save it

I've only went to Club Tortimer mostly to island hop to get some items and I usually try to ignore the other people there. Maybe a couple times people asked me what I was doing and I just merely replied that I was island hopping to look for items. They never really said anything after that. I think they knew what I was doing. Though if you ask me, it's sad when they ask for bells so much and honestly they can make their own. It's not that hard to do. I've heard of a couple of stories where people were wearing crowns and somebody asked them if they could try it on. Basically a very bad idea. So my word of advice, don't wear anything too valuable or they will ask for stuff for no apparent reason. :/

^Back in New Town I used to go to the island wearing my little crown. I never got it stolen, thank god, but people have asked me to try it on.

I have yet to experience one of those awesome hackers, as often as I used to go to CT. I'm thinking it's my 'WiFi' that's the problem thou. When I do encounter some people, they usually leave soon, not talking to me.

yesterday was a great experience. I met up with 2 girls. one named AJ and another one who's name was in japanese so, i'm not quite sure what it was. they were really nice and we went on tours together. I had to leave but that really made me happy. :)

Never really cared for Club Tortimer, was only there like two or three times, just to check out
the shop and then leave immediately without paying attention to other players there. I just
prefer to stay on my own island, especially when it comes to catch bugs and fishs.

One thing that I don't understand: Why do so many begging other players for bells there?
Like come on guys, New Leaf is that AC game where it's pretty easy to make bells real quick
by just spending one hour on your own island, catch all the valuable bugs and that's it, lol.
Don't be so lazy. I mean, it's no wonder however to meet trolls there, like trolls are everywhere,
not just in AC online only.

While reading previous posts, I remember something.
When I go to island and see someone who begs me bells, I repeat what he says to me.

Player : "Gimme money!"
Me : "Gimme money!"
Player : "I want money"
Me : "I want money"
Player : "Please give me money"
Me : "Please give me money"
Player : "What the f**k!"
Me : "What the f**k!"
and so on.

And if he chases after me I chase after him. While we're doing like that, he most likely to either leave or start laughing and talking normally. I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky.

It's a hit or miss really, I don't really go on the island anymore now but I've had more good experiences than bad ones, usually the bad ones come from the international island where I've had beggars and just straight out wierdos asking me for stuff and try to trap me when I wouldn't give them what they want. Aside from those I've met some pretty nice people, I remember chatting to a lovely lady in her 60s and we did stuff like going on tours and such.

I haven’t played ACNL in ages, but whenever I used to visit club tortimer I had pretty decent experiences. I’ve never had anyone beg me for money even though I had the silver bell badge. One experience though, really put me off.

I was on the island alone when a guy arrived. He started talking to me immediately and was asking a lot of questions. I’m a very friendly person so I didn’t mind chatting with him, but the way he spoke was very strange and... flirty. The main thing I remember him doing that made me feel weird, was that he kept referring to me/my character as “cute.” (Like ???? I don’t get why people do this. It’s an online character. I don’t look like this in real life.) I eventually found out he was in his LATE 20s.

This guy, a GROWN ADULT, is calling random girls he DOESN’T KNOW, on a game targeted for YOUNG PEOPLE, “CUTE” !!!! For all he knew, I could be 9 years old !!!! EXTREMELY inappropriate.
Not wanting to be rude, I kept talking to him ;((( At one point I mentioned having a boyfriend, and he said something along the lines of “I wonder what he does to keep you interested ;)” and “You two must get into some trouble together ;)” WTFFF
After that, I made an excuse to leave.. I shudder at the thought of what he’s said to people even younger than me. I really wish I had reported him but alas I can’t remember if I did, or if that was even an option on the island?

Stay safe online guys, there are some real creeps out there.

Man, that's pretty creepy :/
'He' is probably not 20, most likely some annoying kid somewhere, you can 'mute' people on CT, so keep that in mind if it ever happens again.^^ It's very mature and kind of you to keep to the higher road and being nice, we should all try to do that, BUT once someone starts acting like that, whether is real life or club tortimer, they have forfeited the courtesy of being treated politely and should just be ignored.
When I have weirdos or suspect someone's going to be weird (they usually have cryptic TPC messages and wear masks) I make up some excuse like just looking for the orange suit or whirlpool or something and leave.

I went to Club Tortimer a few times this week to see how terrible things have gotten...

I must say so far it?s been better than the last trips I made months ago.

It was strange that this one guy was standing there - just standing in the middle of the island.
He had a strange QR outfit ?? but I feel lucky ?- I think he was a hacker but he just wasn?t in front of his 3DS so I just left. I felt so lucky to have missed him!

LOL It could have been me, but my character didn't have a strange QR outfit. I was there yesterday. I have a character that I dress like an old jiji. While I was playing, cats got into a fight and knocked the plants making a mess, so I went to clean up and totally forgot I was on Tortimer Island. So my character was left all alone for a long time in the middle of the island.

I'm going on Islands often, like every day, and met an hacker only once in 4 years. They gave me a cider drink and chocolate cake and we had fun. I rarely meet beggars these days, only one person asked me for money in months.

Probably why I got sorted in Slytherin on Pottermore. :/

I think I'm usually nice but rude and nasty people always trigger my evil and mischievous side.

I’m surprised at all these tbh. I hardly run into anybody online, and I just duck in every now and then for items.

I met a hacker today. They were standing on the top of the desk when I arrive, then put the support for items like lamp, tv etc.. everywhere and also making a kind of barrier around the old grandma. They seemed rather funny but my batt was lo so i couldn't talk to them.

i've never gone on club tortimer lol
despite the weird/sketchy people i'd inevitably meet, i'm still really curious and want to try it out lmao

This is not about hacker but yesterday I met this girl who was polite. I told her "I'm going to do some tours", to which she said "Can I join?" I replied "Sure why not!". Then, I sat on the chair accidentally... BEFORE she sits down. When I finished with the tour and was back to island, she was gone. I felt bad for her... I didn't mean to do meanie... so sorry...! ;v;

Hopefully next game they will have a yes/no confirmation once you sit in the chair, to prevent unfortunate situations like this.

Unfortunately we are not coming back on exactly the same island after the tour, people we left there live in parallel universe...
