Ok, I'm really sick of duplicate DIYs

I'm not sure if I've ever gotten the same one back-to-back on the same day, but I can definitely agree I'm sick and tired of duplicate DIYs.
On one hand, I want to just toss them in the garbage, but other times I know there are others who may be looking for them, so I try to hold on to them so I can drop them off to people who want them.
But typically, if it's anything from the cardboard set, it goes straight to the trash (where it belongs).

I was keeping everything in my basement (why can't they go into storage? actually, scratch that, my storage is already full), but I actually want to try and get a good score from the HHA for once and there's no where else to keep them where they won't get in the way of something else.
The online community has been a godsend.

I almost never see a wreath or a crown. Those plus the Celeste DIYs and seasonal ones are all I need to finish.
i feel you. i no longer need any of the ordinary diys and only collect spares for selling/trading purposes but it’s especially frustrating when you get a diy that’s super easy to obtain, like the pot or the simple diy workbench. those diys are hella useless imo ;u;
But what about those sweet, sweet wreaths and crowns?

Hopefully the game balances it out and something good happens soon. Ah, who am I kidding?
I've gotten the mum cushion DIY 6 or 7 times by now. Once I got it twice in one day, and then again the next day!
I've also gotten a ton of iron closets and garden wagon DIYs. It's beyond frustrating, because there are lots of recipies I don't have yet. They should have made the game prioritize ner recipies, or at least have them have a higher chance of appearing.

Ouch! I didn't even consider the fact that I could get the cosmos shower again tomorrow. I love the idea of DIY recipes, I just hate how they were handled.
Does anyone else feel like certain DIYs are kept out of your game so that you have to trade for them?
I've got plenty of duplicate DIYs, including golden ones, wreaths etc...but could never get the damned fruit basket!

That's a good question! It's like that for Nook's Cranny items (see Retro fan and snowboard colors), so it wouldn't surprise me if this was the case as they're definitely trying to promote online play with others.
I'm only missing the Celeste and seasonal DIYs, so I just don't pick up bottles or talk to crafting villagers anymore. I'd love to save them for someone who needs them, but there's no good way to store them.. I do save the extra shell recipes that fall out of balloons, though!
i’m just super annoyed that we can’t refuse duplicates. it makes ZERO sense to have the option to refuse a diy we haven’t learned yet from a villager but not to have the option to refuse one we’ve already learned. i hate having all these extra diys that i’m holding onto in the off-chance someone wants them that are cluttering up my island ;;
