I thought that they would have shown swimming during the direct but I didn't see it! do you think they took it out of the game?:(

I doubt it. Swimming isn't something you have access to right away in New Leaf. You needed to get a wet suit, which didn't happen until you got to the island. I bet it'll be unlockable in this game too.

It has to be in the game. I was hoping they would show it as well.

We didn't see someone swimming but we DID see diving goggles at Able Sisters so I doubt they have removed it.

I feel like they didn't show it because they didn't change it. Otherwise they would have shown jets or whatever.

I'm pretty sure it'll be in the game, it seemed like there was enough ocean on the map for it to be anyway.

i’m sure it’ll still be in the game - it wouldn’t make sense to remove it since we literally live on an island lol

Pretty sure it's still a feature in the game, they probably not mentioned it as it wasn't (in their eyes) an important thing to show and wanted to focus more on the newer features the game has to offer. After all, why should they removing it if it fits the best to the game's theme?

I'm wondering how they will restrict us from swimming up the rivers or if we will be able to swim in them. I think I may have seen some rocks that could stop up but I'm not sure

They showed a character in a yellow wet suit it looked like when talking about the island tours.

It has to be in the game. How would we complete our museum without being able to dive in the water and grab the creatures to donate.

i don?t think they?d restrict swimming if we?re on an island and beaches are a main part of the game tbh

I wouldn't make any assumptions really. I personally am a bit neutral on the swimming. It was a fun little activity but also quite restrictive. We'll see in the end. I mean, I kinda hope the direct left at least a few surprises in the game :P
