Nintendo will have restock on Amiibo cards for AC!

I'm so happy for everyone who have been wanting them!

Before I finished my amiibo collection right before NH came out I was wishing that Nintendo would release packs of specific villagers via DLC on the eshop. Yes it sucks to spend that money but at least I wouldn't have wasted so much trying to get a random pack ya know?

What I find funny is that people are willing to spend $6 for the chance to get a certain villager, and if that villager doesn't show up, they'll spend another $6, and then another $6, and then another, until they've spent enough money to have bought the single Amiibo card from eBay.

To each their own, of course, but at least with eBay, you aren't gambling.

They are doing print to demand this time so that should clear that up.

They are printing packs by demand not individual cards.

So, a limited printing of only the quantity of packs that is preordered in Japan. This isn't going to do much for the supply, especially outside of Japan.

I doubt that the cards will see a reprinting outside of Japan any time soon. I hope I'm wrong there because I'd really like to complete my collection, but I don't think the chances are very good.

Interesting approach, especially if it's on the card level. I wonder what they'll charge per card, and if they'll be the same price regardless of villager tier. Cloaked in this is the fact that Nintendo will now be in the business of selling DLC for Animal Crossing. I'm fine with it, but will the masses?

If it's just reprinting packs, outside of Japan, it'll be a bit before we see it state side. Until then, after market sellers will have their days. Also, with packs and the uncertainty of getting a specific villagers (From all 4 series) the eBayer and Etsy sellers will still thrive.

Honestly, the upside of these packs is that it makes more single cards available on the market for those of us willing to buy single ones from eBay or other sites. Can't really complain about that!

At some point the Amiibos will even out on eBay because buyers who don't have sentimental attachments to their cards can use them to get their villager and then turn around and resell them with no impact on their game. Right now more people are playing and learning about the cards and the demand is high. If it's still as high in another couple months, I'd be shocked. I think we're just in peak price period right now.

I hope this means they're making amiibos for the new villagers as well down the line. Cause I'ma be real, I'm not too keen on throwing hundreds of nook mile tickets for one villager. *cough*JudyRaymond*cough*

Praying that this hits the states sometime soon, I have a lot of slots in my binder I'd like to fill!
Really wish I got the packs when they were sold in stores back in the day(wonder what stores they were even in) because it would've made me feel super nostalgic for when I would get Pokémon cards when I was a kid. Maybe they'll come back, how exciting!

So to my understanding the Japanese cards are region locked? Lmao why? Why is region locking even a thing anymore...
