I often put on an American accent when people I have'nt met before are around. And then they ask me if I am American, and I go on about Mexicans in cardbord boxes who speak Spanish and I used to pay them money to do jobgs on the farm and then they started sleeping in the stable... I'm lucky in that my second language is spanish. No pronunciation problems, because the only sound that doesn't exist in english is the fast r and the tongue roll. Some other consonants, like d and m are made on the teeth rather than roof of the mouth. Other than that it's the same as english, Thank god I'm not learning something like Chinese or Arabic.
