I’ve done a few escape rooms with my family. I’m not really great at the puzzles and don’t always know where to start. Luckily, my boyfriend and family are good at them and usually figure things out. Even though I struggle, I still have fun and enjoy spending time with my family! <3

If you haven’t, would you?

I have never done one before, but I'd like to, for the experience. I love solving puzzles and the like, so I think I would really enjoy them. Unfortunately most of the escape rooms that would be near to me are themes that I would not enjoy in the slightest, as they're very dark (one of them legit has a fake guy in an electric chair, and execution isn't a theme I find appealing in the slightest??)

I've done several and I love them! I actually used to do those Flash point and click escape room games online and I always thought I'd love to do this in real life lol. The bigger your crew the more chaotic it is. I've had some experiences where we worked through puzzles together, and others where everyone went in all different directions and it all came together in the end. It's different every time and I love it lol

I actually have, but only once! It was for my birthday and the whole thing was kept a secret. All I knew was that I was going out for something after we had pizza in some place. My sister planned it and we had some of our family there. We had too many people so we had to do two different escape rooms.

I'm kind of glad that we got the one that we did. My aunt's side got this really escape room that was more like Saw?
With gore, blood, severed limbs/bodies ect. In one part they mentioned they had to put their hand in a toilet (that was a prop/not connected) and dig in there to find a clue among severed pieces. It just all sounded so gross and overkill.

Thankfully the one we got was like Indiana Jones. I had heard of escape rooms, but never looked into them. So I was going in blind. I did enjoy it, but I also felt really out of my element. It wasn't just solving puzzles. The entire thing was just math for all the puzzles. So I didn't really like that. Are most escape rooms just heavily math oriented? I feel like there's better ways to introduce puzzles than to just make it all math.

We escaped, but did have to hit the buzzer for help one time. Apparently we did a clue right, where we solved some puzzles and found these beanbags or balls? And we had to lob them in another room that was closed off with a jail cell/iron gate to knock these targets and by doing so the combination to the door would be revealed and then you could put it in the lock. But even though we threw all the balls and hit the targets it didn't work. So they had to knock them over so we could get the clue. Overall it was fun, but I think I would've preferred less math.

I've still yet to do one. Can't be bothered with how much they tend to cost and not really having an equally interested person to do it with. If someone paid for my ticket I definitely would.

I've done one escape room, it was such a long time ago though, I barely remember it.. I remember getting cookie dough ice cream afterwards

I'd probably do one again if my husband were interested. I also like the idea of those rooms where you go to just smash stuff šŸ”Ø

Not yet. They do look very interesting.

Only ones I did were from mobile games, but that might not count.

Nope. I’ve never done one before, but I wouldn’t mind going to one with some family members or friends. I should bring it up one day about attempting one.

I have never had the opportunity to do an escape room before, but I wouldn't mind trying one if the opportunity came up!

Haven't done one but would go if my friends would drag me to one lol. But more than likely we'd just go play pool instead šŸ˜‚

We completed a lot of escape rooms over the years. For some time we went like weekly to one or even did two in a row. It is a lot of fun and tbh I miss it. Have to gather the group again for another one!

A Ghostbuster escape room sounds really cool actually. I would probably try that, but I don't think the escape rooms where I'm from are really as good as the ones you've all been to or are nearby you all. I enjoyed the one I did for my birthday, but it also felt a bit amateur. So I wouldn't mind trying a professional one.

I've done a few and if you have a good group they can be a lot of fun! I've both won before and lost before (didn't escape in time) but still had a good experience.

I did one with my sister’s family when I visited them for Christmas. We did pretty well and made it out within the time limit. I actually started doing one of the puzzles a bit too early and it didn’t do anything but it’s understandable why I thought to try it. There were these books on the shelves that could be removed and we were looking for a way to unlock this box by finding the hidden key. I figured that the books being rearranged would trigger a secret panel that would give us the key. Turns out the books were needed to unlock this furry monster book from its chains later on in the escape room puzzle.

Me and my friend used to do an escape room around every two weeks. We did an Indiana Jones themed one, a "Vegas Heist" themed one, and a pirate ship themed one. It's one of our favorite activities, but around here they can get really expensive, unfortunately.

I’ve only done one, but it was super fun because it was for my youngest kiddos birthday in 2021 and we literally blindfolded him in the car and took away his phone so he had no idea where we were going and what we were doing. So the people at the escape room place also knew about this in advance and played along so when we walked in to the building, my youngest said it smells like PetSmart in here and the guy at the front so quick came back with welcome to PetSmart ha ha ha. So yeah when we got to the room, I literally just opened the door and shoved him in and then we came in a couple minutes later.šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ was super fun though. He and his brother have done a couple more since then.

I haven't, and only have heard of them. This thread has me looking up local ones and there are a few woth great ratings. I am going to demand my brothers and Dad do one with me, it sounds so fun!

Yes, I've done a few different ones, and succeeded at most of them too. They're quite fun - especially when they have lots of interactive elements above and beyond padlocks / codes, I find. I did one that was MouseTrap levels of extravagant for every new thing unlocking and being revealed!

They are a bit expensive so I don't do them a lot, but a fun treat for a birthday.
