This DLC demo was released to just a few people (IGN employees?), and I managed to get one of the codes from a worker who seemed to think this was just a regular demo code.

My screen was recently damaged, so some areas, typically the corners, have white instead of the normal coloration. I didn't notice any of that in this video though. If anyone has had a similar experience, please let me know.
Most of the DLC characters seem fairly out of place...I'm guessing this is just a beta setup though.

I haven't seen this mentioned but I found this from five days ago. Apparently IGN workers received codes and the OP had received this from a worker who had 'thought it was a regular demo.' We can argue that this is fake and quite possibly it is, but leaks in the past have proven true. Heck; the roster leak in August were just images at first, and a source from July (weeks before the roster leak revealing any of this info) was nearly completely accurate bar Chorus Men and Dixie.


This is basically proof that any source can be valid, so while I'm open to the likely possibility this video is fake I'm also open to the possibility it's real.

The video shows Mewtwo, Wolf, Waddle Dee and Wolf, as well as Dr. Mario, Lucina and Dark Pit with their franchises rather than being in the corner.

Now you may wonder, how can be trust this source? Well the OP has stated in the comments:

I don't want to make anything too obvious...Don't want a strike against my channel I'll post another video next saturday where I actually do something or another with the character select screen

Another interesting thing to point out is that the sound is coming from the 3DS; rather than being overplayed - or rather no music at all (no music was heard in the August leaks) and it is on a 3DS console - unlike the August leaks.

Regardless, fake or real, it is interesting. Nintendo hasn't commented yet - however they reacted almost immediately with the roster leak in August. Strange.

I'd say the best thing supporting this is that the clone chars are back with their franchises tbh. I was wondering the other day if just Mewtwos inclusion allowed for a possible working set-up of chars like this.
Also I never really considered Waddle Dee would actually become a playable character, though I did just realise this would be a reason for King Dedede no longer throwing them out.


Also I hope you can selectively purchase the ones you want. Cause I'd opt to not get Wolf in this case. Can't stand him.

To be fair the OP questions this himself; as it is only in development and testing and is most likely a placeholder.

Well in the past the rosters would be misaligned a bit in some places until you unlocked all the characters, so I fully expect the characters to end up with their franchises at some point.

Maybe, but they weren't much more than giant Mr. Saturns imo. But yah, the final smash would have been too much. BUT Waddle Dees appear in Smash run as enemies, so that's a point against really. ~ Though there is that dark Samus thing as an assist now.

I doubt they'd play properly this early on. I imagine they're placeholders too. Atleast we know if it gets taken down for copyright then it's confirmed. xD

Yeah, but he could have kept the smash and only had 4 drop down on the stage at a time for a longer time. But loads of chars got new final smashes, I imagine Nintendo just wanted it to change.
Oh, I forgot about that. I guess it's feasible then. And a spear user would be cool and different.

I hope this happens. This leak is better than the other one. (with Chorus men, Ridley, Wolf, Dixie and Mewtwo)

I swear the Chorus men are only in like 1 game? I swear there was something said that characters are only added to the roster based on their demand and popularity?

The leak that claims the Chorus men Ridley, Wolf, Dixie and Mewtwo are all DLC characters is fake. Wolf and Dixie each have their own colour palette costumes on Diddy kong & Fox. Why would Nintendo bother making these two palette costumes if they were just going to add the 2 characters later in the game?

Why would Nintendo bother making these two palette costumes if they were just going to add the 2 characters later in the game?

Well Mario has a Wario costume and Pit still has his black hair/black costume, and Wario and Dark Pit are still in. So Dixie and Wolf are still possible in my eyes. And I looked up Isaac, and it looks more like the character there than the brown haired harvest moon main.

Looking at the image in more detail though. Isaac, Mewtwo and Wolf don't really match the artstyles and seem to zoomed out in their selection box thing. So I'm betting either all of their images are placeholders or it's fake.

If you mean they only appeared in one game, I don't see how that's a valid point. A lot of the characters in the roster were just in one game. And I doubt a lot of people were yelling for Dark Pit to be included, that was just Sakurai putting in stuff from his own games.

As for the video, it seems off. The audio doesn't change much even when the system is moved around. The least he could have done was show that the cursor worked on the menu, or show the bottom screen. It's sketchy to say the least.

Yeah, their art is offputting. The faces on others' selection boxes are zoomed in to the faces. I doubt that the artwork is their priority at the moment, however.

I said that the DLC was the fake part so far, other than that the info is correct and was released a month before Bowser Jr, Shulk, etc. was confirmed.

Also Exenoblade was too. Also, Pit has a Dark Pit alt, and Dark Pit is in the game. (I just went full Phoenix Wright right there).

I remember that picture from Return to Dream Land when I first saw the video. That combined with Wolf and Mewtwo's pictures looking ugly lower quality from the rest makes me think it's fake. Then again I say every leak is fake just because I don't want to be disappointed if it isn't real, and most of the time it isn't.

Thank you, and I also agree with you too. Wolf and Mewtwo's icons look extremely awkward next to all the other fighters. They're to zoomed out and are really low quality. The only one that looks slightly legit is Waddle Dee. (also the screenshot that says 2.0.2 would be extremely easy to photoshop).

Hmmm, true, but games use place-holders. I'm sure that, if this is real (which it may well be) that those won't be the finalised icons.

But the questions will be answered tomorrow or next week... depending on his definition of 'next Saturday'.
