New leaked controller design ^

Old controller design from E3 2011 ^

What's different? You should notice there's actual analog sticks now instead of flat circle pads like the 3DS has. Also, the Start/Select buttons have been moved to the right of the screen rather than the bottom. Finally, it looks like the analog sticks have been moved out to the edges more. Like they aren't directly above the buttons/d-pad now.

I really like that they changed to analog sticks, maybe I'm the only one but I'm not a fan of the circle pads. It was also smart of them to move the start/select buttons to the side near where the thumb is going to be for quick and easy access to the start menu.
I'm sorta curious...what are those little openings on the bottom left/right corners? Are those mics? Doubt it but wouldn't it be cool to use your voice or breath to do things with the wii U controller lol (or is that too much like the DS?)

Also, I notice a usb/charger cord coming from the Wii U controller. Does this mean we have an internal, rechargeable battery?! That would save money on batteries!

There's definitely a microphone already, look at the hole in the middle it says MIC under it. As for the holes on the bottom left and right corners I'm thinking those might be speaker holes.

DS meets Wii

It means Nintendo can take a lot of what they've learned from developing games for the DS over the years and apply it to making Wii U games! (microphone, touch screen, dual screen and such)

The only thing I care about is how comfortable it is and whether or not it can actually control certain types of games effectively. The player was handicapped by the Wii's controller more than helped, in my opinion.

In some cases this is true. Some utilized the motion control of the wii perfectly, while others had very confusing controls. I found myself forgetting the controls in New Super Mario Bros. Wii every time I played it because they were so random, but a game like Mario Kart Wii was enhanced by the Wii controller.

Lol aren't I smart? Totally didn't see it there. Well I'm happy they have the mic, that exciting I personally don't believe that with the DS (any type ds) they utilized the mic functions enough so hopefully they will be used more with the WiiU. I also hope that the WiiU utilizes the gyroscope functions more than the 3DS has so far. I personally love the gyroscope feature of the 3DS, too bad its hardly used.

For example, I could see a game in which you enter a flying vehicle, the WiiU tablet controller could become the way to steer the vehicle.

Any yeah, it makes sense for those openings to be speakers!

That PAC-MAN/Galaga game uses the gyroscope quite nicely, as does Mario Kart 7. It's rather hard to control, but it's all Ashwee uses. I kind of disagree. I want people to stray away from the motion control. I wouldn't mind it if the had it, but it's becoming and unecessary gimmick.

I think this part of the trailer is good hint they'll be supporting it better.

I still hate the idea of a screen on the controller, tacky as **** and looks hard to hold, but whatever.

I used to think this and I still do a bit, but the whole idea is growing on me. It might work really well, or it might flop.

^ This, it does look uncomfortable to hold, but still, we more or less have to wait until they release it again. I do think the screen on le controller is kidna stupid. but it's still :\ mehh
