Not sure if this is the right spot for this thread...
But ACNH made an appearance as an answer tonight on Jeopardy! which I think just goes to show how mainstream our once obscure Nintendo title has now become.

I hope I’m not giving anything away, but I’m sure anyone who is on this board would have gotten the answer right away anyway:)

Woah, Jeopardy is still alive?

It was all thanks to New Leaf that made this series gain popularity with this newly made game in the series to continue it's, well. popularity.

It still catches me off guard when there's pop culture or video game trivia on Jeopardy haha. I'm curious about what the question was. 🤔

yeah they've been experimenting with different hosts throughout the last few months. I hear LeVar Burton will be hosting soon and I'm really excited cause I love his acting (thinking Reading Rainbow and Star Trek TNG).

I'd like to see the ACNH related question that was used tonight!

Yeah, it's gained a recent uptick in popularity. After Alex Trebek's death (may he rest in peace) they haven't decided on a new permanent host yet so they've been trying out a bunch of different guest hosts and people have been watching a lot more to form opinions on the guest hosts and who should be the new permanent host.

I like seeing niche questions on topics like video games and sports on Jeopardy. It's even funnier when people who were dominating the more traditional rounds go 0/5 in those niche categories while I know all the answers 😆

Got curious and looked it up myself:

Here's a video:

And of course every single person on this website would have been screaming the answer at the TV, watching those contestants just shaking their heads. XD

see sometimes I look at a Jeopardy question and I'm like "wtf does this even mean" but this one is just so blatantly obvious lmao

It was actually a slightly different but very similar answer (I guess they were recycling the question!) in a category called Pop Culture.

damn, the one night that my grandmother doesn’t put jeopardy on 🤣. it always catches me off guard when animal crossing gets mentioned in stuff like that but i’m lowkey glad that i wasn’t watching as nobody getting it would’ve been even more frustrating to see in real time LOL.

though I do wonder how many would accidentally mess up in their excitement about knowing this and not answer in the proper question format

damn. apparently nook holds a monopoly on all businesses in-game, if taking this question at face value
