Don't feel bad. It doesn't matter if you have the most popular villagers or the least popular villagers. After all, it's your town. If you like your villagers, don't let the opinions of others make you decide what to do with them. Think for yourself and create the town that you want. Remember, you can choose not to listen to people's opinions; that's what they think. Hope this helps.
Its okay to like any villager! There are so many "low tier" villagers that I actively seek lol. I can't believe people actually took time out of their day to insult the OP.

Who cares what they say? It's your game, play it how you want and ignore them! I don't feel like any of the villagers are "ugly" Animal Crossing is a game for you to relax and enjoy.

I like ugly villagers too. I have 6 towns and most of the villagers are considered ugly. I personally like them and would never get rid of them. They make me happy, and that's what matters.
Never feel bad for liking villagers others think are ugly! They shouldn't even be trying to make you feel bad like who does that its so rude?? But please never be ashamed of liking villagers who aren't as pretty as same like Marshall or Julian etc.
It's a sad statement that there is a part of the Animal Crossing community that acts like this. Always remember that there is no such this as "ugly" villagers or villagers that are better than others. There is no benefit to having villagers in the higher tiers, in fact the list only serves as a guide for pricing for people selling/buying in the Villager Trading Plaza. As someone else mentioned earlier appearance is completely subjective, so if you think that Beardo is cuter than the Tier 1's no-one has the right to tell you otherwise. One of the best things about AC is that you can create a town personalised to you so chances are your town will be considered more interesting than ones filled only with villagers in the higher tiers which generally just fall under generic cute town. It's people like this that are the reason I can't stand Marshal, essentially using him as a mascot and lording around everyone else because apparently he is better than everyone else.

Well firstly, there is no such thing as 'ugly villagers'. We all have different tastes and opinions and what is ugly to one person may be cute to another.
As to your question, it is perfectly okay to like any villager you please.
Be confident in your choices, it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks, you're the one who has to play it.
Don't worry about what anybody says, just ignore them and carry on playing the way you want

even if i prefer ugly villagers, i certainly dont dislike cute ones. one thing that makes animal crossing special is that you can fill in anything you want or like in your town, from villagers to house decorating. all of the messages ive been getting lately made me almost forget that. i really dont want to hate on anybody for having different villagers either because i love what everybody does to their town

the game is not even meant to be full of cutesy perfect villagers that's part of the diversity. people who disagree are clearly just delusional and also ugly is an subjective term i don't find marshal or lucky cute at all but everyone seems to love them, whatever, fine by me.

Yes, it's ok Why wouldn't be? Everyone has their own taste, so simply ignore those who say nasty things about your villagers. It's YOUR town after all, not theirs.
It's absolutely okay!! Some people are gross elitists and look down on people who don't share their tastes, but it's all up to personal taste. If people are going out of their way to tell you your personal tastes are bad, I think their bad manners are enough to say you don't need to listen to their opinion.
I adore plenty of ""ugly"" villagers, including Beardo, Moose, Diva, and Rasher. I personally don't find any of them ugly at all! It's up to your personal tastes to decide which villagers you like best.
Of course it's ok to love "ugly" villagers! I absolutely love my Barold to bits, even though he's considered a "bottom of the barrel" tier villager and "ugly".
Either way, I think he's adorable and a top tier dreamie in my books, and that's all that matters. ^-^
