Don't ever feel bad about that and don't you ever let people message you about your choice of villagers. Who does that anyway? I find that pretty sad and out of place, to be honest.
It's YOUR game, YOUR town, YOUR villagers, YOUR taste. Animal Crossing isn't a game about cute things. It's a game about doing what YOU want. If you like Diva and Beardo, why shouldn't you have them? Don't ever be ashamed of pursuing the things you like. Ignore everyone who tells you your villagers aren't good enough. There's no villager better than other because they all have the same personalities and say exactly the same things. You should NEVER get rid of the villagers you like just because someone else told you they aren't cute.

Its your town, so you can have whoever you want in it. And there are plenty of villagers that some people absolutely adore while others can't stand, so you're totally fine. Basically, don't let others' taste dictate your decision. Go with your gut instead.
i think it's okay to like ugly villagers. don't worry about it, one of my favourites (katt) is one of the most disliked because of her appearance. but i think she's adorable
i also have a few other "ugly" ones that i can't let go of and there's nothing wrong with that

first of all, whoever is sending you those messages should really mind their own business. you are allowed to like and/or have whatever villagers you want, regardless of popularity, species, personality, appearance, etc

Don't feel bad about it, the term "ugly" is very subjective. You can like whatever villagers you want and don't let other people try to change that. I love Barold even though a lot of people think he's ugly

You should never let other people's opinions of your villagers bother you. Everyone has their own taste. What is "ugly" to some people might be "cute" to other people, and vice versa. Just enjoy the game and play it the way you want.

Keep whichever villagers you like and don't give a **** what anyone else thinks. People who say that are probably sheep who have the top 10 villagers on the tier list because they think it makes them look cool regardless of whether or not they actually like those villagers lol

I agree with the comments already given. I just can't wrap my head around *why* someone would seriously see which villagers a stranger has and feel the need to not only critique the selection but also message the stranger to pass their unsolicited opinion along.. I don't get what someone would hope to achieve from this - what is the point? Is it just to feel superior and brag? I don't get it. If someone messaged me about a villager I have and said I should get rid of them I'd honestly assume they contacted me by mistake as why would a stranger feel they have any say in what I do in MY game?

I don't judge people for their looks or taste or their preferences (excusing normal brain functions of course), but I do judge people on their behaviour and their conduct - and the people who make others feel bad about the villagers they have (and like) are worse than ugly; they're petty and mean and rude to boot.
