iOS & Android App

Hi guys,

I'm trying not to self-promote here (and I apologize to the mods if this isn't allowed), but I thought I'd post because it might be useful to some of you.

I've created an iOS & Android app for New Leaf, which gives info on all of the bugs, fish, events and projects in the game. I thought it'd be helpful for those who don't want to purchase the guide, but still want easy access to information (it works offline too).

When you catch a bug/fish you can mark it as "caught", then when you're looking at the list of fish/bugs the ones you've already caught have a tick next to them, which allows you to see which ones you haven't already caught.

It's completely free because I wanted everyone to have access to it, but it does have an ad in it at the bottom to keep the server maintained. Hope this isn't too much of a problem for you guys.

You can find more information, screenshots and download links for both the iOS App Store and Google Play in my signature. It'll be available in the Amazon App Store shortly for Kindle users.

I went ahead and downloaded it since it was free and wow I'm impressed! The design is simple yet informative. I really don't have any complains about it, just a few suggestions. In the bugs and fish tabs have a section where it shows the total fish and bugs, so its all in one nice big list and not just sorted month by month. Also it would be cool if you could include villagers, furniture, unlocks etc! But all in all, really fantastic app, great job!

I agree, it would be nice if you did a list of all of the bugs at once. I really love it but you seem to be missing some fish and bugs and several of the community projects, but I can see myself using this quite a lot!

Great suggestions. I can make it in one nice big list if that'd be more convenient. I already plan on doing more things such as villagers and furniture, the only reason why I haven't yet is because I didn't have access to reliable-enough info to add them in.

You're right about this, and I'm already aware of it. The reason is because I didn't have access to the full list at the time I was collecting the data together (which was before the game was released). However, I'll be receiving the official guide tomorrow so I'll make sure I have every bug, fish & community project included. Note that the data in the app automatically keeps in sync with my server, so over the next day or 2 you'll see the extra bugs and things added without needing to update the app.

Downloaded this and its really cool! Any way you could add the sizes of the fish? like the fish like sea bass, dorado, or ray it would be large, gold fish would be tiny, blue marlin would be huge, ect ect? lol. just seems like it would also be helpful so you would know what size of fish to look out for...

I would download it if it was fixed up for the iPad...I do not like the way that iPhone only apps look on my iPad. Although I have both, I usually prefer to do things like this on my iPad.

It looks wonderful though, and I may yet change my mind about it.

Wow, just realized you can check off the things you already found. That's awesome.

Will you guys be updating it in the future with pictures? One thing that might be really helpful is pictures of the bugs and the water shapes of the fish. I see a picture spot so figured I'd ask.

It is good that you made this app! Downloading as I type this. The amount of IPhone guides/cheat lists are limited so it is great to find one for New Leaf! Motivates me some to figure out how to make an app lol. I can make simple 2D games, but they are .exe files and don't know that whole process for apps lol.
