Random thoughts thread (for Animal Crossing in general)

If you have a random thought about any of the Animal Crossing games, elements of the franchise, etc. feel free to share it here.

I'm going to start off by talking about the update process in Pocket Camp Complete. I remember when the original version (Pocket Camp) was out, there was a minigame you could play while the app downloaded data. It seems to have been gone since, I wonder what happened to it? I missed having that minigame. Now it's a just a slideshow of screenshots with captions, which just isn't the same.

You just reminded me of this! There was a mini 2D game where you drove the camper and collected bells... it was so simple but pretty cute.

I wish we could use our stamp cards in pocket camp for any of the fortune cards and not just the current ones in stocj.

I wish people would stop with the Tom Nook jokes. Sure, he was a bit meaner in older games, but who wasn't? He's not a crook, come on. His payment plans are so soft compared to real life ones. :c

I hope the sanrio x pocket camp collab comes back since I was not playing at the time and never got to invite any of the characters.

Two things:

• Hopkins and Zipper both share the same birthday today. Yes, that's right. Two "totally real" rabbits celebrate on the same day. Coincidence? I think NOT!
• It's interesting to see that Chevre and Nan's friendship is official lore. Chevre is referred to in Nan's e-card and Pocket Camp descriptions, and both have each others' pictures in their houses in New Horizons. And speaking of Nan, I somehow found out that she was originally going to gain a beard in New Leaf, as her amiibo card shows, but that ended up not being the case. Pretty weird.

I love when you talk to your villager twice and get all sassy, like “Wow! Someone’s really chatty today, CHEEKY.” (Looking at you, Shari! Or they act like you’re obsessed with them. Like…yeah, I’m gonna talk to you. You’re my cute animal neighbor on this lil island.

My goodness…weird confession but human Tom Nook is a SNACK! I love the gijinka fanart of him where he’s happy and chubby. Like if he was a person he’d be my type for sure lol.

That reminded me of when people used to joke that the villager from Super Smash Bros. was a murderer with an axe...those jokes got old quickly.

We never got a diy for the flowers in the watering cans and I miss the way flowers used to be displayed in our houses.

We didn't get a new villager animal type for New Horizons. I didn't expect them to add snakes but nothing new was really disappointing.

i'm kind of sad that new horizons became the most popular version of animal crossing and the one that most people think of when they think of the franchise. it's my least fave main series game by far and i fear the next game will be more similar to nh than the previous games

The 7th anniversary for my 5th New Leaf town, Ume was not long ago. I found this picture sitting around in some pictures I saved in a file. Pippy, Prince and Soleil are the only ones I have left.

I would like to see snakes and bats introduced to the game soon. Snakes would be a bit touching because some people are afraid of them but in AC, I think it will be quite of cute. Bats, I've seen some artworks long ago and it's an incredible idea. However, I fear only two villagers of one of these species will be released... like octopus. We only have 4 octopus. Rabbits, cats, we have more! Of course they are there since the beginning of the games but I would like more diversity in the species.

With Ankha being inspired by ancient Egypt, I wish there were more villagers inspired by ancient civilizations, like Aztecs, Incas, etc.

In acnh, I kept getting pears and oranges while map resetting. I did a town in oranges and a town in apples.

ACNL I keep getting peaches cherries and apples. I had apples. I'd like to try pears this time. But the pears seem soo rare to spawn. A smaller spawn than oranges (which I really dislike the perfect oranges, otherwise I would have found my map already because I do like oranges). I may have to settle for apples..
The two times I had pears spawn, it had square grass and the map wasn't that great or the waterfall wasnt south.
Square grass is the one grass I want to avoid. Yes it matters to me as small of a detail as it is..

It still amazes me how much fruit is in ACNL compared to acnh.

Villagers really hate when you wear the same outfit! But their shade is unmatched…they make it sound like they’re polite, but you know the truth.

If more abandoned old villagers are brought back in the next game, I hope Sunny is one of them. She's adorable and deserves better than to stay obscure.

I would hope in the next game they'd go back to the start with the villagers. It would be cool to have more or returning villagers, but if it was one or the other I would rather them focus on villager dialogue/interactivity. They're so boring in NH.
