I bought a 3DS XL in June 2014 and I bought a New 3DS XL in September 2015. Last night, my dad won a 3DS XL as a prize at a sporting event. (It's the older model with a Super Mario 3D Land download, but it's still NIB.) I feel so lucky!

Whoa! Good for you! Enjoy it :]
I just hope someday that type of luck hits someone like me XD

I got rid of my old 3DS to get a PS Vita. It was a smart idea, but I'd love to be able to help my 2nd town out sometimes, and I can't do that anymore D:

sweet- Ive seen a lot of the new 3DSXL units in stores right now with the SupeMarioLand installed...

That's awesome! You're so lucky! :o I've been wanting to get a second 3DS but I don't have the money for it and I'm afraid my family might make fun of me for getting another one when I already have one. :p

Thanks, everyone. :)

I'm keeping it in the box until I decide what to do...

*cough* you could give it to me *cough*

You could just find a random child on the street and say
"hey"
"want a free 3ds? get in this non-suspicious white van and I'll drive you to my home."

I'm thinking of selling it. I won't trade it in because aside from Animal Crossing, I don't play games. Once I get over this stupid never-ending cold, I might try GameStop.

iirc stores like Walmart and Target now take returns without a receipt (altho they may exclude something like video game consoles). you may get more $$ for it via craig's list than at gamestop, seems like gamestop doesnt offer much.

You'd be throwing away a lot of money if you sold it to GameStop. They're only offering $32 according to their trade value page:

It doesn't specify if new or used, but I'd assume you won't get much either way. I'd really consider eBay or some other place.

Yeah their rate sucks tbh, you'd be better selling on private or on ebay or something.

Awesome! Having multiple 3DS's is great, since if you lose one or one breaks, you'll always have the others as back-up.

what did you decide? i would seriously check target/walmart, although they may be like gamestop and treat all consoles as used even if they are in a brand new box. (i note however, that walmart is advertising the same 3ds you won with the super mario installed on it, so you never know)...

or you could give it away to a cousin or nephew/niece and wins some points with whatever relative you need to schmooze...

I don't have any younger cousins, newphews or nieces. (Tiny family! LOL)

Anyway, I decided to keep the new one. I might eventually get rid of the old one instead. I know I could try Walmart or Target and they'd give me a gift card (assuming they accepted it), but I don't really want a gift card.
