I got my first villager photo and I'm sad

Before playing ACNH I have my list of dreamies. I said to myself that before I get my dreamies I must get my first 10 original villagers' photo before replacing them one by one. And now I'm somehow sad (and ofcourse happy) that Bubbles gave me her photo. Bye Bubbles. You made my island development memorable </3

I understand how you feel! It's really fun to try and get a lot of different pictures by becoming best friends, but that also makes it bittersweet when they leave.

I tried doing this in NL. I couldn't let some of my villagers go. So I ended up with 20 pictures of Goldie.

Definitely going to be a bittersweet moment for sure. It's like they've come of age with you and your village, and now it's time to watch them spread their wings and fly away. I haven't gotten a picture yet, but when I do, I'll celebrate through tears.

If it's any help to anyone, I always liked to try and get all the pictures but would often struggle - nowadays (without having to use amiibo) I recently learned that using Harv's island you can get posters of your villagers - a handy different way to commemorate them just in case anyone didn't know and benefits from this!

There are also 8 reactions (1 per personality) locked behind high friendship level. My dreamie, Julian, gave me the Showmanship reaction a day before giving me his photo and I agree, it felt like I reached the peak with him...I'm not sure if I should keep him or not, he was also my first dreamie I received during the first week of the game.

I just started trying to befriend my villagers for photos. I don't have a full island yet and I've been telling them no to moving already. It is going to be a bittersweet moment when I get my first picture. Knowing me, it will probably be Sherb. I'm not sure if I will actually let him leave!

I'm doing this as well. I still have my original 10 villagers. Beardo and Audie have given me their photos, so once they ask to move I will let them go.

I never thought about doing this! I have a hard time letting villagers go, but at the same time, I want to experience the game with different villagers coming in and out.
I'll have to do this method as a sort of 'character completion goal' so I can part with them!

aw congrats. i’m waiting to let a lot of my villagers move out until i get their photo and i can definitely see it being a bittersweet moment for me, too, once they give me their pics aha ;u;

Congrats! I’m trying to get villager photos as well, so far no one gave me their photo yet. If I end up getting their photo, i’m willing to let them move out depending on the villager I want to move out.
