I didn’t think my bug nemesis this month would be the cicada shell

The second one I found, I shock it off the tree because I didn't see it. With the number of cicadas on my island, you think they would be more common. Maybe the spawn will be higher in August when summer is coming to an end.

If you know your weather seed, it'll be good trying to find it when it rains do you don't get butterfly and mosquito spawns. Getting rid of the water near your trees would get rid of the water bug spawns.

I've spent seven hour doing dedicated bug-hunting on mystery islands, and still haven't caught a scarab beetle or horned atlas! I'm sick of staying up until the early morning trying to catch those two...

I agree that the cicada shell was also unusually difficult to find. Luckily I found one by chance on my island after three days.

The cicada shell and horned hercules for me...

most of the beetles + stags are playing hide & seek apparently because i haven’t seen like half of them. i’ve gotten the common ones + a few of the rarer ones but others have just not shown up at all lmaoo. the cicada shell is being a pain for me, too - i don’t remember it being so difficult to find in new leaf lmaooo

I’ve only found one cicada shell, I was about to head into my house at night and saw something out of the corner of my eye on a tree behind my house. So glad I stopped myself to check what it was before going indoors.

Also took me forever to find a walking stick, but I finally came across one on a mystery island.
Now the only bug I’m missing for July is the scarab beetle.

I actually cut down ALL trees except for one on the mystery island. Still didnt spawn! Yeah, this ones going to be tough.

I have all the fish and all the sea creatures and all the bugs except the cicada shell. It's only worth 10 bells so Idk why it's so hard to find.

For all the new bugs released this month, I've found very few of them. Probably because alot of my trees are in my orchard, which are spaced in a way that makes it hard to see the bugs perched on it. /:

All of the bugs look the same to me, so I've just been catching them as I see them and hoping it's something new, lol. So many tree bugs and cicadas I can't keep them straight.

I haven't gotten one yet. I didn't even realize they were in the game until I saw one for the first time- but it was on a tree I couldn't reach because of landscaping

But I caught a walking stick yesterday! It was the first time I'd seen one... though it's entirely possible I've accidentally walked past them before

Today I just now found the walking stick and the shell. When I saw the shell I thought it was a trippy new beetle so I was stalking it. Nope. Just dead skin. Toy would think that since there are SO MANY LOUD cicadas that there would be a ton more shells.

My nemesis is and will always be the fly. It took me MONTHS to capture even with trash all over the island. That being said the cicada shell wasn't exactly a walk in the park..

Idk what bugs I need to catch still since I caught a lot of them but last month the Goliath beetle was kicking my butt. Even if I’m slowly sneaking up on it, it would still fly away. Frustrating, in short I never caught it.

There are a few I cant find the cicada shell is one of them. The other ones are horned Hercules, golden stag ,scarab beetle , giant stag and giraffe stag. They all seem to be playing hide and seek.
