They seem to be incredibly rare... neither my brother nor I have gotten a single one at all. I did find a few stray stars a couple times, but I just want to know if you're guaranteed a shower at least once per zodiac period??

Anyone else go this long without a shower? Maybe we are just super unlucky

Coming from someone who TT's a lot, unfortunately you're definitely not guaranteed one per zodiac period, which is a shame. It seems like on average it's about one per every month and a half or two, but every so often you'll see 2 showers in a month. It is, like the entire rest of the game, pretty RNG lol

I had an official one last month. Isabelle announced it in the morning.

That was my only one. I get more stray shooting stars that appear in clumps and ends abruptly.

I haven't had a single one since launch day and I've played every day since. So it seems like they're super rare. I have had strays before though. I'm just glad you can wish on stars on other islands otherwise I'd just be screwed on getting star fragments

i’ve had maybe one or two since launch - unfortunately, they’re pretty rare and you’re more likely to have sporadic shootings stars rather than a meteor shower ;;

I've only had one meteor shower on my island and I've played daily since the game came out, though I have had several nights of stray shooting stars. Definitely would be nicer if you were guaranteed at least one meteor shower a month, haha.

For the first time since March 20th. Isabelle finally announced that I have a meteor shower. Oh praise, Tom Nook.

i think its celeste that's guarenteed every zodiac period, not a meteor shower, which sucks lol.

Wow, I’ve only had 2 meteor showers since launch and I thought I was unlucky lol.

I think I've had like 6? I got them very frequently around launch but they've been super rare since.

I got one official one and have been playing since day 1.
I did get a few days here and there of shooting stars but not lately though even though I had Celeste visit me recently.

I only saw one wave of shooting stars since I started playing... I have the feeling I'm missing a big part of the game and it's really frustrating so I'm with you...

They should do an update to increase the chances of shooting stars and meteor showers.

I've had quite a few bursts of random stars (always coincides with Celeste being there, and no other time) but I've never had a proper official meteor shower and I've been playing every day since launch. I know the cap is there regardless, but I'd like to experience a real one soon 😔

Something to keep in mind is that only a maximum of 30 - 40 fragments can wash up the next day. I don't want to spoil anything for those still getting there first meteor shower, so spoiler warning!

The meteor shower was just like any random shooting stars you might happen to witness on your island. The biggest difference was that it was almost continuous, instead of having large time intervals (20 minutes/30 minutes). Often when Celeste is around patience will be rewarded with a few 'bursts' of falling stars. I spend an entire evening standing on north side of my island waiting for falling stars. It was a clear night and happened to get like 4-5 stars every 30 minutes or so.

During the actual meteor shower I could stand on the cliff and get like 100 stars in less 30 minutes! However, my disappointment was enormous when I found out that only like 40 fragments washed up the next day. My GF who came for the shower too, only got 20 fragments (but finished the achievement from under 50 wishes to start with).

So all in all, a meteor shower is a nice way to get 40 fragments easily, but just paying attention during normal play will also get you quite a few!

From the guide book

Starting next week, there will be 0 meteor showers until July 6.

EDIT 06-19-2020: The Guide book appears to be incorrect here. According to Ninji's weather forecast tool, I have a heavy meteor shower planned for June 26th.
