How do you justify expensive purchases?

I don't justify, I don't even hesitate -- if I want it, I buy it. Simple pleasures, simple thinking. For instance, if it's a plush toy I really really have my eye on, idc if it's like, 50 bucks. My money's there to use how I want, when I want, otherwise it's just rotting in the bank.

I have a good amount of savings and I admit sometimes I push my monthly budget. But also, tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. So if I see something that I want, I just go for it. Now, something that is thousands of dollars like a vacation is something that takes thought and planning, however.

i dont buy things for myself very often because i like to save money, so whenever i feel overwhelmingly compelled to buy something for myself i will do it. i tell myself its okay to buy some things for myself every once in a while

I am really impulsive so I don't take a moment to think of if I actually need this item or if it's just an "in the moment" thing. I normally click buy and then realize later on that I don't really use/wear said item. I justify these purchases because buying things makes me happy (especially when I have had a rough week or I have the funds to do so)

I add things to my cart - and then I just let them sit there. 90% of the time I don’t buy them because a) I forgot or b) my cart got deleted and I was too lazy to redo it or c) I contemplated it for several days, couldn’t make up my mind and let the great internet shopping gods decide the fate of my cart. If the item is sold out after a while, it wasn’t meant to be. Cart deleted, wasn’t meant to be. An item in my cart got reduced? Time to buy it haha ^^

I don’t, if I can afford it and need it I’ll still buy it. I’ve gotten to the point in life where I don’t care what others think when it comes to what I spend my money on.

I don't understand the value of a dollar. I just work when they tell me I should, spend money when I see something I want, and pretend that everything is okay.

If I know for a fact that I will be using whatever I'm buying frequently, I'll get it. I also tell myself it's a material object, if it's a clothing piece, I'll tell myself that I will be wearing this a lot and the price is worth it.

OOOf. This is such a tough one for me. I used to be so bad with money. I think it depends on what you're buying and how you're gonna use it if at all. I've minimized my possessions recently and the only things I will buy anymore are cycling-related things as that is my main hobby. So recently I purchased a new bike that costs more than some people's vehicles and pondered it for quite a while. I sold off a few things to help with the money end and I justified it as it's something I use and is good for my health. It also helped that it was about $1700 off of the normal price so glad I thought about it for a few months before pulling the trigger when I first started thinking about a bigger purchase.

I havent really bought too many expensive things unless they were a good deal but I will try and ask myself if its worth it. I remember once I saw someone on eBay a few years ago had like 30 packs of japanese RV cards for only $100 and I decided to buy them so now I have a complete set of WA cards since then. I only buy expensive things if its worth it though!

My expensive purchases are mostly electronics or skincare products and I usually do a lot of research into it before buying, so I feel like I've already justified it in my mind. I do feel buyer's remorse when I buy moderately priced items in the spur of the moment because I realise after that I don't really need it or it just creates clutter. It didn't cost me much, but I could have saved it for something bigger on my expensive stuff wishlist lol.

I don't purchase pricey things all that often (or at all), the only exception being ACNH. I bought the game as soon as I could, because I wanted it so badly and was not convinced that it would go on sale at all. XP My advice would to wait for a good deal of course, though not everyone is patient (and some things can be really rare so a price drop is rarer than a coelacanth). If you're looking for something to buy, get it second-hand! It could still be in mint condition and it makes less waste as well. ^^

If I'm making a big purchase, as in hundreds or thousands of dollars, then I usually need that item to replace something that's old or faulty, so I don't feel too much guilt from that. But if it's something a bit less urgent, I usually keep it in my cart for a day or so, sometimes weeks, and if I still feel like I need it I will purchase it.

It really depends on what it is and if I really need or want it. Like I bought a leafblower. A super expensive one. Well I live in a woodsy area where a lot of leaves drop every fall on my yard. Takes forever to rake them or use my commercially grade weak leafblower. So I bought a powerful one that feels like it wants to blow me away. But it takes no time at all to 'rake' my yard every fall and to me spending that money so I can spend my spare time on other more important things is worth it.

I could end up taking an entire day raking my leaves the old way. So I like not having my entire day wasted doing something I just really don't want to do. The leafblower has come in handy in a lot of other ways to. It was a great investment.

if you're like me, you have a slight shopping addiction and dont care about justifying just so long as you get a dopamine rush after pressing "buy now" 😎

just kidding, but it really really depends on what i want. i typically don't buy anything over $100 online unless i can see it in person, lest it be something like lolita clothes. unless it's a gift for someone else of course, i never buy anything that expensive at once cause i'm greedy trying to be more frugal. at least i haven't spent that much in a while, anyways, except for bills. gotta pay bills :/

one thing i've been doing to curb my shopping addiction is to let something sit in a cart for a couple days. if i forget, dont buy it. if i dont like it later, dont buy it. but if it's super duper on my mind like i NEED it, i wait til next payday to buy it after paying off bills. this does help because sometimes i don't have any money after paying bills so lol. ive probably talked myself out of $200 worth of purchases in the past month with this.

I don’t care very much about the price. If I want something, I‘ll buy it. I sometimes miss the times when I didn’t have as much money. Buying things gets boring when you can buy almost anything you like.
