How do you feel about the furniture in this game?
I'm starting to feel really frustrated because I know how many amazing furniture series there were in New Leaf, but as of today I feel I've seen almost every piece of furniture that the game has to offer (not counting recolours of course). Every new day, when I enter the shop, I'm always disappointed because I keep getting the same pieces. I didn't even ever went to nookazon nor tried too hard to catalogue all of the furnitures. It just happened visiting the shop everyday and popping balloons. I don't even do time travel :/

I know that new furniture are eventually coming, but I feel like that they should a more frequent kind of update to keep the game fresh. I'm ok with big updates happing every two months, the last one was in April and hopefully the next one is coming soon; but I'd like to have minor things such as furniture and DIY recipes to be implemented more frequently.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game and I still play it everyday, but decorating is such a big feature in the Animal Crossing series and I feel like most of the islands look the same, all with the same areas, surely not because of lack of creativity, but because possibilities are too limited by the lack of variety in furniture.

TL;DR: I think there is a poor variety in terms of furniture and I would have liked to have new furniture series already implemented in the game by now (3 months since the game release).

i agree, the lack of diversity is really frustrating. i miss so many of the awesome furniture sets of previous games (princess rococo & sloppy wya?). i guess they have such little furniture in keeping with the 'new life on a deserted island' theme but honestly it's just annoying. i wish they'd have added more by now!

Very frustrated here as well. I went into this expecting something more frequent, but it's been incredibly quiet now at 3 months out of the release which is quite significant for any game regardless of whether it's animal crossing or not.

I agree too. I booted up my NL file yesterday and the difference between my mayor's house and my island rep's house is staggering 😭 especially considering I'm trying to make the same room! My NH house looks so lifeless in comparison. I'm on my phone but I'll try to come back to this with pictures.

there’s definitely some nice furniture but i really miss all the sets and items from previous games - with a game that gives us so much creative freedom, you’d think that they’d give us more options rather than less ;u;

I totally agree. The furniture I see all the time too is like random stuff that isn’t even helpful to making a house, like I hardly see dressers or beds or stuff like that. And I know we have the DIYs but I miss the sets like the mermaid set, Rococo, Princess, etc. hopefully they’ll put them in the game soon, because I feel like it’s hard to design rooms besides the basic kitchen/bathroom/plant centered room. And the kitchen always looks the same bc there’s only so much kitchen stuff that is available to use. The lack of furniture I think is the biggest drawback to the game.

I'm super frustrated. It seems like everyone's exteriors look the same! I wanted all the NL furniture and more, not less. I mentioned this in another thread too, but I really wish we even had some of the Pocket Camp furniture. That game has shrines, cafes, circuses, gothic sets, so much pretty stuff. I would honestly prefer more furniture over QoL updates.

new horizons wants what pocket camp has

seriously why does the free mobile game give me cuter outfits and furniture than the 60$ console game???

I hate it. I've already said it, but CJ and Chip's fishing tourney prizes are on different leagues. Hell the crap CJ gives you could had been sold at Nook's and you wouldn't had been any wiser.

Nooks is always selling the same junk I don't care for and stuff that could really make my town look nice like a common sand castle (I have never found selling in my shop)

I think the game is heavily lacking it and too focused on DIY things/events. I mean considering the diverse and large amount that was already in NL that you were able to unlock and you could get it as long as you had money (and later getting Gracie's) I think this game's store and selection is definitely repeating and not having a lot of different ones...

I watched a few of the PC fortune cookie promotional videos on youtube and wanted to cry
Compare this, this, or THIS to anything NH has besides maybe a few Celeste DIYs. I would be scared what Nookazon would look like if people were fighting over angel wings and a floating heaven stairway

Honestly, instead of having like 10 different color variations for just one item, I would rather have more variety when it comes to the furniture sets. At this point, I really miss the Sloppy series and many other sets a lot. Sometimes, I struggle when it comes to decorate a room because it feels like I'm using the same three tables and closets over and over again. I hope for an update that adds more furniture.

I miss Gracie's Sweet set. I made a whimsical desert restaurant with them. All of the furniture in this game feels like they wanted to cater to being realistic. There's hardly any furniture now that shouts the Animal Crossing wacky charm. That's what I liked about the game. It didn't have to make sense with some of the furniture.

I don't know if they felt like the game had to grow up, but it didn't.

agreed! what little furniture we have is awfully... normal. and its weird bc i feel like theres still a lot of fun wallpapers and floorings; like i have the cloud flooring and some chocolate ones but not much furniture to match with them! i just dont get it.
