The first time I was six and sitting next to my grandma at dinner, thought her white wine was my water, and was so grossed out that I spit it out.

The second time I was 12 and ordered a virgin pina coolada at a restaurant, they accidentally brought me an alcoholic one and I noticed because it tasted disgusting. XD

My mom uses the same cups we do for our drinks so one time when I was six she had some wine which I thought was my apple juice and it was gross. Another time my family was at a restaurant on mother's day so they gave my mom a fruity wine. My mom couldn't tell it was alcoholic so she gave me some, needless to say I was grossed out. I have a few alcoholics in my family and I plan not to go the same way. Besides, I'm diabetic and it would be too many carbs.

Not had rum in ages!
I've gone out and picked up some old style, real ale recently. Oh gawd, it's so good and bitter.
And like you've said, nice way to just unwind.
