has anybody else been having issues inviting/visiting people lately?

over the last 2 days or so, i’ve sporadically been having issues with visiting people’s islands and having them come to mine with receiving communication errors and/or a message popping up saying that it couldn’t connect to the other console(s).

i know it’s not my internet because my internet is stable and it has no problem connecting to that, the problem just seems to be whenever it’s time to board the plane or when the flyover cut-screen is supposed to pop up

I know you don't think it's on your side but I would make extra sure it isn't...

That, or it's Nintendo with their wonderful 20 dollars a year internet service screwing you over.

it’s not on my side - my internet is 100% stable and the issue isn’t with my internet or membership itself but is with trying to visit other islands - i genuinely don’t think it has anything to do with me or my internet. i’ve noticed that it’s typically only when i try to visit islands and isn’t always happening (etc. one trade has no issues but the next does) and that anybody else who tries to visit the same island is having the same issue so i don’t think it’s me lol

Even if you think it's not on your side, it's still better to check and do a little troubleshooting.

Try checking or test the internet settings on your Switch. Try to disconnect and reconnect.

You cannot confirm it unless you've tested it.

did that and my internet’s fine lol - the issue isn’t with connecting to the internet but is with trying to visit other islands. prior to inserting the dodo code and having orville to check what island is open, there’s no issue

i've consistently been getting communication errors as well when i enter a dodo code to go somewhere or when i'm opening my island! i tried all kinds of things like changing my DNS (which worked for like 2 tries) and trying to disconnect/reconnect from internet (my internet is fine!)

i kinda feel like it's my end as others i play with don't have this issue when visiting the same islands, but i really don't know how to fix it.

I've had some problems with villagers leaving, getting the -Looks like someone is leaving- and its back to my town and there still here so, lag maybe? O:

I haven't had any issues but recently I did trade with someone who said their game would lag when people visited their island but not the other way around. I'm not too sure if they had Internet problems or not though

I had like constant connection errors earlier today, but the latest island I visited I spent like 15 minutes there with no issues anymore.
