Are Beatles still the fastest way to make bells in this game!? I started a new island on my switch lite so I'm trying to figure out if Beatles are still a thing or if it's a new method entirely!
Probably. I started a new game so since it's been winter I've mostly been diving but that only comes out to about 100,000 bells every thirty minutes real time or so.
ETA: I made this post late so see below for more details.
I mean turnips are technically the fastest, but that requires obscene luck, 2 games, or help from another
my personal bell farm method though involves selling gold/blue rose wreaths on my island (bell boom)
I can make 5 each per flower spawn cycle, which totals to 240k every few days. not a hugely massive amount, but consistent with little work needed (we don't talk about all the work it takes to get 50 of each flower)

deep sea creatures sell for a decent overall average in my experience, are incredibly easy to get good value spawns, and you don't have to deal with any tools durability management
only real issue is some of the pricier ones can be an absolute pain, if you're not very good at catching them. also, you kinda got to learn how to tell which shadows to just completely ignore, unless you're missing things in season for the critterpedia/museum that you're trying to get
With the diving I don't leave any of them because they don't despawn. I bought the Mario pipes and put one on that piece of beach where Redd lands and one near my store. I have the large inventory, four rows, and I always have the top row full of tools so I do a three-row dive run and it ends up being anywhere from 50,000-70,000. And there is a trick when it comes to catching the faster-than-you critters, which is to gently tread water by just pushing in the direction, not swimming, until you're over the bubbles then dive. I catch a lot of crab like that.
I do currently have the Bell Boom ordinance, and I also keep an eye out on the store's hot items (since crafting is much more doable since you get to choose a quantity up to 10 at once), so making sure to have a good stock of iron and shells on hand is very helpful. Also, the pearls from diving which are a lot easier to get now than they used to be (always give Pascal the scallop he asks--they're pretty common so you'll likely find another for the museum) because between Pascal and diving you'll generally come back with two to four, plus the cards from Pascal are some of the easiest to get. Of course this isn't an every day income but I did up five of one piece of Mermaid furniture the other day and sold for 250,000 or thereabouts. Some of the iron furniture has a good return too.
